yeah !! V3 dy : ) today went to melawati river again.. catch so many guppy haha fed my bettas again. Oh yeah u all normally pay how much for 1 pack of frozen worms r ?

1 pack is about rm2.50. UV.

i usually buys from SLS in ara damansara. if i remember correctly, the brandname is junko.

btw, the fish in the thumbnail is a HMPK, it's no where near the fin length of a halfmoon.

at least we have thread thumbnail already. i saw the HMPK photo and i thought it'll look great on the square box. I've always like PK / HMPK cos they're sorta like mini arowana to me.

actually earlier thread also i can add the thumbnail la but seeing it's coming to and end, might as well add it here.

last time, i forget where i read a article... it said tat.. microworms are much better than the rest for new born fries....
n after 1 weeks only feed daphnia... n he suggest that dun use bbs, if possible... although bbs is clean.. but the author said that bbs is too big for a 1 week fry.. n dun know wat diease will affect the fries.. bcoz bbs is shrimp...

but, seems.. that is hard to get daphnia... culturing microworms and bbs is the only way....

i don't know where you get your sources from but afaik bbs is the cleanest among all. you're hatching your own shrimp, therefore, you can control the source of water that you use. most daphnia are caught from oxidation pond and i'm sure there's lot more disease there than your tap water. and what attributes shrimp to disease? mind enlightening us?

As I know most betta will fight if you put them together.
How they breed then? can teach me? I dont understand the guide that they wrote

as ryant3 has said, better to learn how to walk before you learn how to run. there are alot more resources on the web on this hobby. try googling for bettysplendens, that is a very newbie friendly site.

actually, the guides posted in post #1 are pretty straightforward too.

danny, keeping bettas alive is simple, but letting them thrive in your captivity takes experience = time.. Good luck ^^

congrat men... i still not dare to spawn my copper Hm .. coz very busy n still not found fry food yet

last i checked, they were still selling bbs eggs and instant bbs in sls. for bbs eggs, don't buy the pre-mix, ask for the eggs only. best to give them a call before you drop by.

the scoop(like fish net) tat they use to scoop the fish one...

everytime i see people said add salt to this to that.. for this for that purpose.. what kind of salt act? cooking salt? or special

aquarium salt.. RM 1(or was it RM2 or RM3? Either ) for 1 KG

not sure about that though.. i juz told the man 'garam' since the LFS only sells fresh water fishes

got any new fish there..?? the last time i went left a few only.. and not so nice.. infact bought a female dragon from sls.. but die ady... dunno why..

swimbladder disease is more of an disorder rather than disease. it's usually caused by overeating. microworms causes ventralless fish and that is a fact!

bro inv, may i know wat is ventralless...

means, the ventral is missing.

wei... no people wan to share what foods other then BBS, dapnia and insufuria for the 1 month of fries??

ooic... bro u means the ventrices...
but, i do think is not the problem of the worms... personally, i think is bcoz dead worm that cloud the water at the btm tat ruin the fry...
anyway.. i try to use abit egg yolk for the small fries... n will feed them wif daphnia n bbs after a week old... tmr, will start my copper project...

ai.. i giv up dy.. ill go get BBS liao haha.. recently keep on looking for alternative food for fry. So how's ur spawning progress? Mind to share approximately how many fries do u get each spawn tank ?

i get between 50-150 fry each spawn. had less too around 30.. but ive never exceeded 150.

dun know how to count leh.. they seperated too far away.. i think for sure more than 50 frys for each spawn... my copper spawn d... going to start opaque tmr... now condition them... i m not sure whether will success or not.. coz the female is kinda big..

i plan to keep betta....the question is....can it stand without food for a day??...coz i go back to my hometown every saturday and go back to work on sunday evening.....every weekend....do u think it will be ok??

fish, like any other animal, can go a few days without meal.

my male starv for a week already... i think he gonna starv for another 2 weeks b4 i remove him fr the spawn tank..

Eh, the gold you spawned for me (gold x red gold), confirmed got more than 150 lah.
I didn't sit down and count but everytime I culled, I culled a batch of 20-50 fishes.
Culled 4 times already still got fishes left.
So estimated >200 fishes in that spawn man!

once i on the light, they hide.. when i turn off the light then only they come out to play.

woo.. today i go to my house backyard to check whether those curl bettas still alive or not.. coz i scared got mosquito larvae... u know wat i found.. i move those plant away to check... i saw a big bubble nest wif lots of eggs... bcoz of my action, all the other bettas rush to that area and start to eat all the eggs... i can see the male is chasing away the other betta.. but, there was too many of them.. so, even he chase one away.. the others still tnjoy the eggs.. den, i decided to move back the floating plant... n let it be... coz i dun know wat to do.. feel so sorry for the male...

b4 that.. when the eggs hav been blow up to the bubblenest.. i will juz nid to wait the eggs to hatched, but this male i dun know y.. he blow up all the eggs.. n the next day.. finish half of it.. the 3rd day.. finish all...

my spawn r failed, only can see few fries swimming after 2 weeks, i only got 1 spawn anyway. i took out the male too early. haha. i've dumped them into a big styfoam box.. conditioned water la.. in 3rd week.. is saw got 5 little fry is swimming around hehe

need expert advice here... my fish refuse to eat his pallet.. it has been two days now... what to do? fyi.. i been feeding him with the same pallet (hikari gold) ever since i brought him home..
