actually earlier thread also i can add the thumbnail la but seeing it's coming to and end, might as well add it here.

spirit of demon, maybe next time i can buy from you when i want more betta. biggrin.gif

wouldnt it be better if u learn to keep them in the best of shape before u intend to breed them? Juz my 2 cents smile.gif

good advice here.

keep 1 first.

after that the only try breeding.

fish is not like human.

human we miss 1 meal, hungry like silly.

fish, like any other animal, can go a few days without meal.

Just wondering. Is it really that fun to have a betta? It is slow moving and nothing much to adore besides the beautiful colour. I went to a fish top near MRR2 (Ampang) and actually have a look at the betta there. It is like looking at a tortoise. LoL. No offence okay. Just want to have a few discussion here.

Never had a betta before and dont think I would have one unless someone here manage to tell me what it is so special about them.

brows.gif
the most common place for people to come by betta are in shops, and i can tell you that all the shops I come by, none of them are in good condition.

small tank, no filter. some even in glass jars and plastic bags. of course their true nature won't be seen.

in reality when you keep a betta, they're damn interesting fish!

sure, alone in the tank. but give them decent space and you'll see they explore and go about their daily routine.

furthermore they don't dirty the water fast and they even know how to come to you when you're near! biggrin.gif

while bettas are fine in small areas but some people just keep them in jars, not good.

breeders are different, they keep them is small tank BUT the small tank is usually more spacious than your average jam jar and breeders change water on an approximate 3 day interval. they take very good care of the betta as the miss of water change could result in curling of the fin (you wouldn't want that in your CT / HM / whatever).

i'm not a breeder, or more like i attempted to be one but failed. haha. now i go into other thing else that make $$$$ already. nevertheless it's an awesome experience, watching how they mate and all. and see how they care for the eggs. (my male betta sucks at fertilizing the egg).

my betta tank not small. smile.gif i tried having 2ft tank for betta and it was really nice. 1 whole peaceful tank with 1 beautiful fish. biggrin.gif i tried 2.5ft tank (and bigger like 4ft) also but too big la. hehe.

in the end i prefer tanks around 12in x 6in x 6in for better. enough for a small filter and some plants. awesome!

goldfish bowl sucks for any form of keeping. tongue.gif

seriously, cartoons don't draw fish and what they look like in a bowl.

fish looks best is non-curved tanks.

for bettas, i personally like to keep them in a 1ft x 0.5ft x0.5ft or similar sized tanks.

give them space and they're really more entertaining than hovering there in a small cube.

put some gravel, light and some plant and see how the fella hides in the shade and comes out, and even greet you when you enter the room.

Hi LYT forumers, share something with u all. Here's my orange plakat. Hope you all liked it. Thanks! icon_rolleyes.gif
wahh no one PRAISE your fish ah?

I really love the colors and finnage of it. In my book it looks superb la but if you're selling then I don't think it'll go cheap. tongue.gif

yours is considered HMPK right? I'm not good in differentiating HMPK vs PK but as long as "PK" - I like! lazy to keep CT / HM already.

IMO best quality bettas are always from breeders.

i'll put it that their passion, commitment and knowledge ensures the quality.

careful where you pick the leaves from, some may have chemical and / or other unhealthy elements.
