seems like i still offended you after all. to me it seems that everyone tries to help and provide you the solution for all the software problems you facing but you keep complaining and never bother to try. good example like the driver, from the other thread you created ppl keep telling you how sucks dell's driver is but you dun bother installing other driver while keep complaining and let the technician reformat your laptop. is this a good move?

if someone operate your body and leaves all the scars on it, do you think after your complain ppl can replace a whole new body to you? your laptop has been "operate" for dunno how many times by technician, i'm not surprise if there's scratches or even damages like you said.

i'm not sure but i guess all the problems that you facing caused by the scratches when you receive your laptop. my only suggestion is if you really got a refund and when you buying another laptop, inspect it from top to bottom in the shop for scratches. no people will let you change the whole product just for few scratches.

For my lappy, with vista 32-bit, the TV tuner works well and good signals (TV1, TV2, radio channel) can be received in Klang Valley. But when I moved to Japan it can't works due to hardware incompatibility of receiving the signals here.

Go to "My Computer", right click on "C" Drive, choose "Properties" then choose the "Hardware" tab and you'll find the model/serial number to your HDD.
Mine's ST9320421ASG, just type the whole thing in Google and there should be results for your hard disk.

Can watch 8tv, ntv7 mah ? If possible please PM me thanks

yea, i think japan uses different frequencies. might as well be a digital tuner if u intend to watch tv here

Oh, I have yet to try my tv tuner. what program is used to watch tv? i don't remember seeing any programs on my lappy. Or do I use the windows mewdia center? o_O

hmmm.i want to ask whether dell offer a 3 year international warranty for all dell notebook such as inspiron,latitude,xps,studio,vostro n etc...?cause i going oversea next year n would like to have an international warranty for it.

studio xps carries international warranty and i think xps should has the same. for inspiron it's depends on which country, my brother previous inspiron only carries warranty for certain countries.

The warranty is applicable within Asia Pacific region. If you're going to study in Australia, that's alright.

My sxps16 carries this "SRVCINTI - International Support For Notebooks" which written in my quotation and order description. My brother previous inspiron carries a different code and something like "Regional Support Within Asia Pacific Countries". So i guess it's depends on different model, or maybe different support plan. Call to confirm is the best way.

Calling is the best way to confirm. but i think the basic warranty is international. the complete cover warranty is within asia-pacific only. ive read in other forums that people have transfered warranties to other countries after moving, maybe u could ask about that as well.

im using vista 64bit, tv tuner doesnt work as well even plugged to astro

U better call Dell ask them fix it for u. If want to refund that Tv card they hv to down grade ur system. I think you still can keep the card if u really want. Dell would not allowed any of his customer to keep unusable hardware in their notebook. If refund they may refund whole system ~

i think all antenna supplied is like that.. couldnt ask much.

astro connected to the tv unit using the same antena cable.. so just take that cable from decoder unit n plug to the laptop. i didnt bought SXPS for the tv tuner, though it would be nice if we could remove it from the system config cause i know it will be crappy n i will not even use it as much.

Tv tuner is used with windows media center only?

Added on April 28, 2009, 1:55 pmHehe. Dell came to repair my speakers today. Guess what, they brought the wrong speakers. lol. I remember reading in this thread someone had the same problem. The speakers had problems, but they came with a subwoofer. I LOLed big time when I saw the technician open up the box.
