Wooh. Just ordered mine on Saturday. Can't wait for it to come. Does the dell shop sell the 9 cell battery? They didn't sell it online.

I'm wondering. What's a good notebook cooler to go with this awesome laptop? Preferably aluminum and light.

Added on April 28, 2009, 1:55 pmHehe. Dell came to repair my speakers today. Guess what, they brought the wrong speakers. lol. I remember reading in this thread someone had the same problem. The speakers had problems, but they came with a subwoofer. I LOLed big time when I saw the technician open up the box. This post has been edited by RMaliff: Apr 28 2009, 01:55 PM |

QUOTE(Dackson @ Apr 30 2009, 12:24 AM) hmmm .... base on the spect and price. You should take Studio rather than Studio XPS bcoz design didnt mean everything. I believe that the use of ddr3 should be put into consideration as ddr3 does make alot of difference. Most ddr2 laptops have 667 rams or at most 800 rams. Only certain laptops like the M1730 has 1067 ddr2. Ram performance between 800 MHz & 1067MHz is very far apart. Another plus to this is that ddr3 is able to give that performance without using much power, typically a ddr3 ram will use 1.7 or 1.8 volts. whereas a ddr2 ram would use more than 2 volts.both only different in design. Forget about DDR3 ram bcoz it's no different when SXPS use DDR2 ~.~ |

QUOTE(barium025 @ May 8 2009, 01:02 PM) after did some googling i come to conclusion that there's nothing wrong about the tuner. it just dell failed to inform us somehow that the tuner only meant for DVB-T format, which is theoritically it should work with RTM's HD transmission. RTM is HD? D:so i'll give that a shot first, cant seems to get a signal from my house at damansara perdana but someone manage to get the signal at bandar sri damansara. so as for now im keeping the unit since it's such a great machine. thanks onyx. I tried the tv tuner a about last week, I can get both RTM channels here in Kajang. Main reason why I got it is because I'll be flying to Aussie soon so I thought the tv tuner will keep me company from boredom there. Any owners with tv tuners used it in Aussie before? From reading this thread, I've tried speedfan to try monitor and regulate my laptop fan speed. But I didn't like it much. Any other softwares to recommend?

It is for me. Still waiting to buy meself a cooler. Even on balanced power it gets warm. Dell kinda cut cost on the cooling system lol.
A good hardware monitoring software is HWMonitor. Its just for monitoring though. This post has been edited by RMaliff: May 15 2009, 04:55 AM |

I have COD4, L4D and BF:Heroes on my XPS. All works great, just occasional lag here and there. Still working that out. What programs are not compatible for you bro? I've yet to use a program that is not vista compatible yet. As for the macbook hardware wise yes its lower than the xps, but bare in mind that the mac os utilizes the hardware more than windows, hence why they don't need such high performing hardwares.

Yes you can find retailers selling them. The blu ray is an extra. Most retail sets won't have them

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ May 16 2009, 11:39 PM) well. erm. for lowyat retailer. don't buy from JustPC or the one at the entrance. They're not professional and not honest. I not sure, but the 4570 is 256mb no?Hmm. Just a lil' question here, if compare gaming performance, Studio 1555 with HD 4570 and Studio XPS 16 with HD 3670, who wins? |

Wonder if it's possible to ask dell for a upgrade? Having the 4670 would be just perfect for the 1640
