even Core 2 Extreme, 1600MHz FSB, also a bottleneck...

that's the main reason y AMD always win when comes to memory, and that's y Intel dumped FSB and use QPI instead...

Read up on the Intel's architecture of FSB (Quad-Pumped). Then understand the concept of DDR (Double Data Rate). You will soon see that yes, it is still a bottleneck. FSB:DRAM would be 1:2, hence CPU is the bottleneck here.

i remember you dont have the gap and palm rest problem at first, it's because they change the lcd or what and operate your laptop dunno how many times only lead to that problem right?

if you're looking for performance laptop and don't mind the design, benq seems to be a great choice.

Hi guys i own a Dell Studio XPS 16 too. And was wondering what is with all the mumbo jumbo CREATIVE Sound Blaster® X-Fi MB softwares doing in my laptop, after giving final thought that it was useless, i went and delete any of that particular software. Since then, i felt guilty of what i might have missed out on. Can any of you guys care to tell me which is the only essential software needed?
P.S i still have the soundblaster setup cd.

Then disable the Windows Sidebar.
The SoundBlaster Advanced MB enables you to play games using Creative's EAX technology; music might sound better, but there's no accurate way to measure this.

yea i do know its caused by sidebar.exe(windows sidebar) cause i've tried disabled that and during the next startup the annoying message wasn't there.

How can one uninstall and reinstall windows sidebar?

You can't uninstall it, it's part of the OS. The most you can do is to disable it.

the warranty of sxps 16 is covered in new zealand and yes the standard one is 1-year XPS Premier Service with 1-year CompleteCover. this one is more than enough and if you want it to be longer for example 3 years, try order your laptop through the phone and get the 3-year XPS Premier Service with 3-year CompleteCover which is a little bit cheaper than the Dell Care Premium. though i'm not sure what makes the Dell Care Premium more expensive.

since you getting it now, try upgrade your laptop to more than 5k and use the rm500 rebate coupon that available recently.
