What can you expect from a humble GPU in our notebook? Studio XPS series aren't gaming notebooks to start off with.
It's one of those games like Crysis that you either play it with an extremely powerful desktop (no, notebooks won't cut for the job) or bite the bullet and bare with the low framerates and stutter rich gaming experience.

Even u use zalman cooler, its oso wont help much on cool down the heat, the most 5-8C.

seriously you got to be kidding me.. i mentioned this before, dmc4 is not a very gpu demanding game at all, and it's way behind crysis if you want to compare.

a desktop 9600gt can easily play devil may cry 4 at super high setting, not to mention a desktop hd4870. i remember you can even see videos in youtube of a desktop hd3870 playing dmc4 in super high setting with AA turning on. either your friend's pc got problem, if not i really dun see why a hd4870 can't play it in that setting.

P/S: i have included some benchmark screenshot that i found from this forum to show you the truth. please stop saying something that are not true. you do know the ranking S does not means SLOW right?



i know it's a bit out of topic but just want to make this guy clear as he keep mentioning this stupid thing again and again. although i have not tried dmc4 in this laptop but it works at high setting on my old desktop with only 7600gt which is slower than hd3670 here. so i dun see why you cant play it.

Hmmm...then can we get and install the creative lab sound blaster thingy by ourself manually by downloading it from other internet website instead of buying it from dell to save the rm28?

Anyone,pls give me opinion on this notebook?is it good?do u guys recommend me buying this notebook for playing high graphic required game like devil may cry 4 etc and downloading anime for whole or 2 days or more days continuously and doing things we will do on a desktop daily?

The offer that dell offers now rm3999 for a dell sxps 16 notebook is it a good deal since it does not have any promotion or free gift or free upgrade?

devil may cry from my post above shows you that it's not really that high gpu required. i'm sure you can play it smoothly, maybe not the super high setting and not turning AA on.

there's no available discount coupon right now.

First post updated with more review links and revised formatting for specifications of both notebooks; it makes more sense for potential owners to know the available customization options as opposed to the base configuration.
I might add links to essential drivers/firmware for our systems, but that remains to see if I have the spare time to do so.

This notebook is new, so it's zippy for a year or two. For now, it's quite a beast with a proper set of hardware (though it comes with a hefty price tag). This notebook can handle old games pretty well; new games at lower resolution or detail settings. I never leave my notebook to operate for a day or more but it should be fine with proper cooling/heat dissipation, a notebook cooler for instance.

said palm rest and keyboard is domestic damage. LOL i replace my palm rest 3 times ald, this time just said domestic problem. It's a faulty !! Domestic damage mean i purposely spoils my palm rest. unable to fix just said, dont need to hide faulty !!

He told me since u had complain on our customer care i can not do anything ald.

I just email to customer care that he took my unit just wrote down the reason on a piece of paper only with signature with IC and they name. Why dont hv resit from dell even they direct from Dell. Just to verify this issue with them.

Now let them decide whether refund whole system or else. I never buy Dell again except my parent buy for me.
Probably go HP or simple pick one 13 inches notebook for my study ...
No mood using good performance unit.

i got a bad feeling that no matter what brand you going for in the end you will faced all these problem again (no offence bro). you're complaining too much and most of the problems didn't even exist at all, all created by your so called friends. you might be lucky dell technician go to your house for the repair, imagine other brand that you need to go to the service center.

because of your complains your laptop has been operate dunno how many times already. if there's really any domestic damage happens due to that, no brand in the world will cover it for you imo. do yourself a flavor and get something cheaper so you wont feel that bad if anythings goes wrong.

zalman nc-2000 get my votes if you have the budget. cm infinite comes second.

That Tv card is not support my M'sia TV.

this is the reason Dell decide refunding or compensate. (they will never compensate)
If ur system using 64bits then u can get ur signal.
Major due to TV card, my right hand side palm rest is bend. Hving a gap whole i close my lid.
3 time replace twice taking back also unable to fix the main problem as above.
