i think the dv600 won't drop any further, you better get dv610 since they r much cheaper although i am not sure wether the specs of both players are the same or not..wonder why the newer model r cheaper if the specs are the same..

just bought a philips 5996...satisfy with it..

Philips 5996 is a good player, considering that its price and also with USB function. Sony 708 is nice too, but too bad no USB, lose a lot here...although both plays excellent PQ...i'm still in the eye for DV610 though..that specs are too difficult to resist....especially that the price is going low already till RM650.

Where to get at RM650? I paid RM720 for it and it was selling for RM999 at Harvey Norman.

I think A&L sells it for RM650. I just came back from Hiway Laser and they are selling DV610 at RM750 and DV410 at RM450.

What is A&L?

A forumer posted the thread of buying at RM650 in the previous V1. From Penang, i have asked, it's possible if you bundled purchase with other thing such as the Home Theater System or TV...

just bought a Denon 1730 upscaling player last week.. around RM450.. picture quality not much different from my samsung 870 player.

The DV610 I bought for RM720 was from A&L in Amcorp Mall.... 1 mth ago.

My friend combined purchase with another LCD TV, it's RM650 from A&L

Anyone knows where to buy at RM650 if purchase individually?

My favorite salesman at Amcorp A&L currently went holiday oversea. I can ask him when he come back next week. Always got a good price from him. I'm thinking of getting DV410 for my bedroom setup.

please update here if can get DV610 at RM650 when he comes back. If yes, then you might want to tell him that there are few forumer would purchase from him..as A&L will get a lot of publicity for DV610 purchase.

Seems like there are lots of talking about Pioneer HDMI player, especially DV610. How does it compare to Sony 708 in terms of PQ and AQ ?? Some of my friends say they make no difference, only the price are different for both units, true ? *_*

if can try to avoid this model. is really a very ordinary performance player.. this is a very low end pioneer model.
you can check the review through the What hifi magazine.(poor review)
I would advice you to get the 696 model if still can find it.. worth you hard earn cash.

if not try the samsung HD870 model.. only RM399 although only output 1080i maximum. but very stable and good upscalling picture quality
(but again very much depend on your disc quality)

is not that i ANTI-pioneer, just that sometime dont be fooled by some low quality product range.

They are both good player except Pioneer can also play SACD and DVD-A. Never compare both before so can't say which one is better but I think you can't go wrong with either.

Wow...really? Obviously you've never been to AVS Forum and obviously you never actually see DV400/410 in action yourself. Don't trust What Hifi 100%. Just take their review as a guidance but you must go and see the DV410 for yourself
