Pioneer DV-610 selling for RM999 at Harvey Norman.
Where can get better price?

Will CD audio sound better with it's DAC compared to a Yamaha AVR?

Philips 5996 is a good player, considering that its price and also with USB function. Sony 708 is nice too, but too bad no USB, lose a lot here...although both plays excellent PQ...i'm still in the eye for DV610 though..that specs are too difficult to resist....especially that the price is going low already till RM650.

Where to get at RM650? I paid RM720 for it and it was selling for RM999 at Harvey Norman.

Hi, need some advice here. If I buy the Pioneer DV410V, if I put in a normal avi file, say a 350MB TV show avi file, will the DVD player upscale it to 1080p?

Assuming I have a 1080p Full HD plasma, can the above DVD player upscale it to 1080p?

If can, will the image be much clearer than just playing the avi file straight from the USB?

I have a DV610... dont think it upscales DivX.... only DVDs.

Hi,

Anyone know can Cornell DVD player DV3080H show the full filename longer than 8 chars in the USB drive?

I know DV-410 has some problem, filename truncated. need firmware hack to fix this.
LG DV392 has no such issue at all.

If Cornell can do that without such problem it will be PERFECT!

I have one....
1. Can upscale to 1080p.
2. Does not remember upscaling option... have to press HD button on remote everytime.
3. Some DivX cannot play (which can play on my Pioneer DV610).
4. PQ cannot compare with Pioneer DV610.
5. USB filename... truncated.
6. For the price... cannot complain lah....

just came back from HN. pioneer  410 price ~rm399 with free HDMI cable and 610 price ~rm799 with free HDMI cable .
just wander the unit you buy is demo set or what ,, why so cheap??
if yes i think it worth for me to drive from penang to KL to buy.... lor.
or i can ask my brother to buy for me lor.. rclxub.gif

& or

the cornell hdmi player. request for unit try, overall the SETUP/ setting interface software is like "BASIC brand" DVD player (SIMPLE).
HD setting , there is 720, 1080i and 1080p to choose, unit plug with HD 32" lCD TV with HDMI picture QLY = GOOD.
can consider if you want something cheap & many function. support cd to usb copy.. ect

One thing that I find very irritating abt the Cornell player is that you have to set the resolution everytime u switch it on. ie. it does not remember and will go back to S-Video resolution.
