I'm considering changing my D40 to D80 also. I feel D80 is a better buy than the D40 and D60 now at this price.
*

you talking about the 2nd hand D80s or the new ones?
d40 kit 1.7k
d60 kit 1.9k
d80 body 2.8k
d80 kit 3.2k

almost 2x the price of d40 kit..

A 2nd hand D80 should be below RM2k. Now its whether you want something new or something used smile.gif

The D40 is a good camera but you have to learn how to handle its limitations.

You are well known as Bugbarazzi maa. I also not sure whether I'll be getting the pictures I want, so I just go and give it a try.

p/s : I do not know where I came up with the Bugbarazzi term tho but its surely for you zio tongue.gif

dear users..i was wondering is the D40 really that good like ken rockwell said? the 6MP doesn't bother me.. but is the light sensitivity of the D40 and flash sync speed 1/500 that good that makes it a better buy than D40x and D60?
*
sum of his info is good. i dun like he's thrashing d80 like that.. doh.gif

alternative for remote shutter is to use the self timer smile.gif also, i think more of the time the AF wont work if its too dark..so you have to rely on your eyesight and MF
