i thought is all Nikon digital system have CLS?
*
Thats correct. Just that the D40 need external help to control other flashes smile.gif

SB-800 will serve as a good commander.

I define Nikon CLS to be a commander unit controlling multiple offshoe flashes.

In that case, D40 or any Nikon DSLR is CLS capable because you just need to get a commander. The D40 can't function as a commander but if you use the SU-800 or the SB-800, then you can commander other slave flashes.

Haha off-shoe tak boleh ler. But the D40 is still CLS compatible. Get the SB-800 la. By the time xand PM you the stuff to get, the SB-800 will be cheaper tongue.gif

Hrmm am i the only weird one who went from a d40 to a d300 to g9 and back to a d40 tongue.gif

Just realised the whole macro setup will still cost me close to RM7k. And R1C1 is out of stock. This is ridiculous!

i guess i might follow his flash setup,
but i will use 50mm 1.8 + raynox adapter to make it life size, or at least close to it..  sweat.gif
thanks.. just wanna utilize my 50mm, wanted to shoot fireworks pictures with it, but too bad the place i stand is too tight for it..
*
Hehehe if i get my dedicated macro setup, i might let go the Raynox.

Hey hey! Welcome back! Nice shots btw... all trying to move upwards but you come down to D40 pulak. I thought you were holding out for the D90?
*
Heh, I dont think I need all the bells and whistles of the D90. When it comes to macro, its pretty much the lens that seal the deal anyway smile.gif
