Ya... thanks guys. It's an awesome camera.... I'll be using my D40X kit lens and 50mm f1.8 till I figure out what new lenses to buy, or till I figure out what to do with the D40X.

What's KLPF? Where is it held and when? If i'm free, I might go also!

yes got LYF people going!!! i will meet you people there then i will arrive at friday afternoon...but i guess the event starts at saturday right? My fellow friend will be setting up a store there... name is Wi Xin Photography... you might just see me there if there isnt any event going on during the free time

first(a bit underexposed due to the white fur) and second is very nice...the rest are just experimental shots...

So Oren, how can I avoid pic #1 from being under? Should I focus on something else than the white fur so the cam will expose more correctly? I don't really understand metering, etc...haha.

if yr on P,A, or S, just adjust the EV compensation. the EV+- thingy + the EV value.

or, if you are using M, you just slower the shutter speed or widen the aperture... you will see the exposure meter saying its over exposed but actually its not..it says that it is overexposed because its a wide object...

Ah, kk...so just a few notches of being over is OK right? Ok, got it! I actually noticed this when I used M mode while taking landscape pics. I'd turn the command dial until the exposure meter says it's correctly exposed and then only I snap. but then I noticed the pic is a bit under also, kinda dark. Thx oren! And I like your 2nd shot too, of the tyre! I think if there's a central focusing point under the tyres, like a pebble, it'd have been even nicer

ah... ok no problem noted will try next time... also the exposure thingey also applies to black objects which is the other way round...
