@unknownhammie: If just bought then could be that she was already sick before you bought her. sad.gif

@ss88: How is the ventilation of your enclosure? Robos tend to sweat a lot and need good ventilation.

Sound like what was happened to my DigDig as he died from wet tail after we bought him back. Wet tail can be due to stress. Do check the tail whether is wet or the body is like sweating. If she is then most probably is wet tail disease. This is a fatal disease and they can died within 24 hours if not treated. So sorry for you. What you can do now is, clean the whole cage she stayed before this with antiseptic solution (eg: Delto) and wash with plenty of water to disinfect it, so that the germs will not pass to another hamster in the future. If you male hamster is cage together with your female then please do observe the male from now, get everything change NOW and disinfect the cage. Wet tail is very contagious.

I understand how is she feel when lost a hamster even it just with you for few days. Ask her not to be too sad as sometimes this will happen, no one to be blame. I do cry for all my hamsters no matter they died or gone missing. cry.gif Stress and maybe the hamster can adapt well with the new environment and developed wet tail. Learn from experience. That's why we always mention of leaving them alone for few days after brought them home to prevent stressing them. That's the reason.

rclxms.gif Dug out some old pictures of my dear Pastel. He was one of the most beautiful robos I have ever seen (besides being a white face tongue.gif). I just had to have him when I saw him when he was little.

He had very thick dense fur which he kept clean by frequently grooming and sand bathing. He was also very "manly". ahem... He grew to be big and had such cute looking wide ears. He was also the most intelligent robo I owned. My star trick master. Chubbiest robo I ever owned as well.

In loving memories, I give you, Pastel. smile.gif

If your hamster is sick you should bring to a vet lo. Survivor powder only helps give energy and protein. The sickness might not go away. (sorry nezu. not insulting your products. Just scared the WW got virus).
*
no problem Jamien, cos its the real fact, survivor powder don't container medication. but they do need to take in double dosage of protein n energy to keep on their strengh, in order to take treatment.

In Malaysia, yup. The sellers don't know about it yet. And those who do know hike its price sky high.

And thanks. He was a beautiful and lovable boy. Never had a more attention loving robo. He's one of the reasons why robos are my top hamsters.

sweat.gif You want because he's a white face or he's chubby?

Anyway, try your luck and look at pet shops selling robos. You might see one or two. I've only ever seen 3 and owned 2. Shop owners won't be able to help you out to look for one because they don't know about white face hamsters.

Good luck in hunting!

I honestly don't know because both my white face robos never produced any pups when I pair them up with normal robos. It could be that they're sterile or that the females didn't like them.

Think I'm back to square one of taming my syrian again.
Been busy with exams that I dont have time to play with mine. Guess he dont recognize me anymore.

Just now got bitten. Gosh I dont think I've ever bled this much besides having menses.
I didnt yank or threw him la, just hold his body trying to get him off of me.
I actually heard the sound of something tearing.

Seriously, I'm just gonna give him and myself some time out.
It'll be only feeding time and constant talking with absolutely no contact sleep.gif;

My hand is still trembling typing this lol.
He used to be the sweetest thing ;__;

You must have faith. My robos also same case like you, never let me get a hold, and one the female always thinks that my finger is food, and start nibble it. But when i tell her off, she will stop nibble. smile.gif

Even if you are busy, simply pass by their cage and say hi, and sometimes my robos will climb up to the cage and star at me. Juz let them remember ur smell... smile.gif Gambateh neh~~~

sad.gif Ouch... Must hurt a lot. But getting bitten by a syrian isn't pleasant since they have such long and sharp teeth.

I suggest you use bribery. It's much better to get your hamster to think that you're a food provider, not a threat. Then from there, proceed from food provider to "interesting living thing".

Try cutting veges into long pieces and you hold one end and extend the other end to him.

@bytefreezer: no idea dude. Jus no pups. I miss my pastel. cry.gif

welcome to the thread wave.gif

erm, since u're new, please take our advice : dont put male and female together unless u're prepared to take care of their offspring. syrians should be housed seperately. your wheel looks a bit small for a syrian also.

but ur cheese thingy is cute. where did u get it?
