8' 8", unfortunately. would prefer full sized fan, not baby fan

Don't underestimate the wind power of baby fan, I have the same thought as you but after installed. Wow! Better than my 3 blades 56" ceiling fan.

Unless you wanted to install it at big area. Else, it does work.

8'8" is quite low for ceiling... You can check this KDK low ceiling fan.

Two features can consider in fan models esp for bedroom use is whether they got remote control and off timer.

Simple ones like Deka has 1,2,4,8 hr off timer. More ex models like Panasonic Nami has 7 speed and also 1,2,4,8 hour plus sleep mode and Yuragi (breeze fuzzy logic).

These are good to pair with aircon esp on hot days such that aircond is turned on (manual or timer) to cool room first. Then when sleeping, raise temp slightly and if possible silence or lowest fan mode while turning on fan at medium or low. Wasn't Panasonic the one to innovate aircon and fan pairing (Bayu?)

I heard some friends who say that on hot days, the best combo is an aircond with a Nami fan. They swear by the Nami sleep function and off timer combo. The surrounding air in wee hours of morning already cool enough so no need to turn on so long. They on fan before sleeping and time it to off 8 hours with Nami's sleep mode to bring fan speed down gradually. Air cond off by 3 or 4. They keep aircon temp at 25-27. Combined with medium fan speed windchill feels like 23-25. Naturally will wake up when get warmer around 6:30. This strategy helps jimat lektrik also.

Don't ever buy any fan from Deka brand. their service like sucks. i already purchase Deka Q8 then got problem with speed no 2. call their service centre and sent one technician but unable to repair because the main board have to replace with new one. As promise they will sent another technician but i'm request to cam on Saturday because they only can provide service to your house on Monday until Friday only (What kind of service?). I tried to call their person incharge who will arrange for their technician but no answer.

That is too expensive. Even it save energy. The cost doesn't justify at all.

Thanks for the reply smile.gif

What baby fan did you install? These fans will be for 3 areas; living, dining, and master bedroom

The 2nd room and office will utilize baby fans

Alpha baby fan for my dining hall, dry kitchen & bedrom for my chidlren. I can touch the bottom of the fan with my hand, provided I didn't jump then should be ok. tongue.gif However, you can modified the rod to become shorter if you want which I like but I didn't.

yes. the one they installed is white. quite compact for kitchen area with low profile.

Anyhow, mhlee is right. As long as you don't reach up by jumping should be ok. Some fans allow varying profile height also.

What's your room dimension net of tall furnishings (wardrobe, kitchen cab, tall bookshelf) if any?

thanks, all!

i'm 6 feet tall, so yes, reaching up will have my hands pretty much nearly cut off if i get in the way of the blades at 7.5 feet haha.

i'm partial to the deka ones that have the ability to reverse their directions, due to spreading the a/c joy around, at least in the bedroom

will look into these options now. thanks!

edit:
has anyone got recent prices for Panasonic F-M14E8 4-blade yuragi?
Top Ten is RM384
