Anyone knows what is the safe minimal distance of the fan blade to the plaster board ceiling? Is 5" sufficient? Or must be more than 5"? Scared later if the fan wobbles a bit then the blade kena the plaster ceiling... coz planning to do flat plaster board, but leave a round/square hole in the middle just enough to fit the fan base through, so the fan blade will be quite close to the plaster ceiling.

AS for ceilling fan, Say NO to Deka....
I bought 5 DEKA fans from soxxka suxma about 2 years back.
Thought the reverse function is good, but consider useless....
2 of the DEKA was down just after 1 year and calling the service centre no one pickup the call. Is it close down or wrong number printed at manual? Last call the shop, they said will charge for transportation charges and need to change the part (remote sensor on fan faulty) for fan which cost almost Rm150++... I rather to change the fan instead of repair....
Roughly about 1.5 years, another unit was down....
The price for this fan i bought last time is no cheap, if buy 1 unit is Rm299 and buy 5 unit and each rm269....
Totally regret now, with the price I rather buy the KDK or panasonic....
My KDK 4 blades still working in good condition but some minor humming sound from fan.....
So forumers, choose your ceilling fans carefully...

Wise decision... Better go for the brand KDK or Panasonic to reduce all the unnecessary problem...

Hi all,

Recently, my ceiling fan is running slower and slower. As claimed by the technician, the IC board is malfunction. Thus, am planning to purchase another new fan.

I have some questions in my mind which need your advise:
i.) Is there any reliability issue of ceiling fan with remote control vs regular ceiling fan with same brand. or its based on luck?
ii.) Any significant differences between 3/4/5 blades ceiling fan (assuming same brand)?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Could be the remote sensor IC board spoilt, try change one from another similar fan and see it works.

Added on September 14, 2012, 12:08 amMine is all Euro Uno i bought 3 years ago. I read some say it is no good and i agree the sensor board is not very good.

Out of 10 sets i have, 3 or 4 sets the sensors already not well. One part spoil means 1 speed rosak. All spoilt fan cant turn at all. Put in a good sensor from another set it runs well again.

I have a few sets with speed 2 not working but can run speed 1 and speed 3, very irritating when usually i want speed 2.

Problem is this Euro Uno spare parts so difficult to get, if you can get it, your fan is back working again.

The motor no problem, only the speed sensors!

Added on September 14, 2012, 12:10 amanybody knows where to buy the sensor? The round IC board. I had 1 set repaired at RM40.

The fan i bought at RM185 in 2009 - 5 blades. I think it's worth just change sensor. Change new fan susah, have to call people, change sensor very easy, can do it yourself.

You already bought, too late to ask good or not. Just use and enjoy your new fan. Make sure find a good installer.

Hi All,

I'm the the market for the following ceiling fans :

Panasonic Bayu 4 (FM14C8)
Panasonic Bayu 5 (FM14D9-WT or FM14D9-CG)
KDK Baby fan (K11Z1-UD)

Anyone can recommend a place in the Klang Valley where I can get a good deal on these?

Actually, what is the difference between a 4 blade and a 5 blade fan?

Thanks in advance.

Please check with the hardware/electrical shop opposite The Shell Petrol Station at Jalan Jelutong. I was looking for the KDK fan K14XB-GY model, after checking with the KDK dealer, the best price i can get is RM250 but this shop can offer RM235.
