I purchased few Panasonic fans recently and got it installed by the electrician.

Can I know is it common for the fan to wobble abit when operating and more when it's at the max speed? Or to what extent then we can consider the fan is wobbling? Is it as long as the case move abit even when operating is considered as wobbling?

I contacted the Customer Service and they mentioned that they will charge me if the fan wobble due to wrong installation so I was planning maybe to try tighten up the screws here and there first before proceeding to ask the technician to come over.

I'm a little OCD so even slight movement is bugging me quite a while.

Did the electrician do any sort of balancing of the blade during installation? Nowadays lot of electrician just install without any balancing done as presumably they believe the fan should be perfectly balance out of the box. But unfortunately there is other factor that influence this. As such there is such a case your fan can wobble if there is unbalance situation.

The technician would come and if due to balancing issue, its not consider wrong installation.

As such, you got 2 choice, ask your electrician to come balance the fan if he did not or ask the technician to do it for you but you get charged accordingly.

During the installation new Fan, Technician should do all the necessary technical checking n testing in term of balancing if not the technician taking for granted

Its normal if its the bayoo 4 series. The way the blades are mounted to the center hub is poorly designed. Its like you just hold the end of a long ruler using your thumb and a finger and try to keep it stable. If you use whole hand (4 fingers and one thumb) to hold that long ruler it will be much more stable. The former situation is the mounting of bayoo 4 using something like a clothes peg wire to hold the fan blade. The better one (latter situation) using hard mounting (failsafe and won't fly off) is the midrange (and higher) KDK series such as Vtouch Junior, Sensa 4.

You can try to pop off the fan blade "dinner plate" cover and tighten the 2 mounting screws (whilst pressing hard into the screw so it won't jump out/cam out and botak the + sign of the screws) for each blade to see if it helps whistling.gif.

Basically fan wouldn't wobbling when operating if installation and balancing is good skilled by the technician
*
To be honest, I installed 3 other KDKs and no issue. I have remounted that particular model bayoo 4 a total of three times from living hall, middle bedroom, and small bedroom and it still give windless feel + krek krek sounds of the blade scraping on the center hub.

The technician only ensure to mount the center hub and fix all 4 blades. It is not the job of the technician to balance fan blades. That is factory responsibility to deliver a working product. This is not like car tyre mounting.

The fan blades are balanced at factory level not at installation/end user side.
All have same weights as per the factory balancing stickers (they give a set of 4x 78.0 or 4x 79.5 for example), the factory wont give 3x78 and 1x 79.5.

On Alpha Technicians, they deliver to your house, install it and do balancing checking as well.
Therefore, kill three birds in one stone

I think I'll give it a shot this weekend and try to fix by myself first then only I will contact the technician if it's still wobbling.

Darn, 3 of the fan is Bayu 4 (F-M14CZV) and 2 F-M15EX. I'll try to tighten and see how it goes in the weekend.

They charge u for it??

Mine did it for FOC. Panasonic and KDK.

But the KDK technician simply do it, they just screw tight the upper cover/canopy to the plaster ceiling to stop the fan from wobbling.

So now I just manually balance the KDK fans by jz using coins and cloth tape

I have one question.

How far from the wall a ceiling fan should be installed?

There is a "hallway" in my house that I planned to install a fan. The width is around 68". I calculate if I buy KDK baby fan which is 44", I will be left with 24", which divide by 2 will be 1'. Is 1' from from the blade for each side will be adequate?

Thanks. I know generally 1m is recommended, I just wonder if there is any option for me that allows smaller clearance between the wall and fan, and if there is fan with smaller diameter & and the same time looks good sweat.gif

Otherwise I guess I have to stick with stand/tower fan..

I am also interested in those Alpha DC motor fans. Some of their Sandinavian design looks very nice and minimalist.

Anyone here with experience using them? I am worried about realiability of DC motor but I want something quiet. My current AC ones from both Panasonic and KDK bising and humming after use of some years (quite many years lah to be honest, so worth it already).

Nice, thanks for feedback. 10 years is very good mileage. I think I will try out some DC motor ones and see how they last.

The availability is still less than Panasonic which you can find at practically every shop, so I am thinking of going to their main showroom.

Sorry if this has been asked before. Is there any AC fan with remote that can remember the last speed setting after the switch is off? Budget around rm200. Thanks

I have an Alpha AC fan and everytime I turn the switch on it will go to speed 2 which is too fast for my preference
