PIP support is mandatory since Bluray profile 1.1. i personally dont have any pip-featured bd movies atm to test it for you.

I got some questions regarding PlayStation Network:

1) Is it I get my account upon purchase of a PlayStation 3?

2) Is there any difference between US account or Malaysia account and so on?

3) Do all PS3 gamers connect to a same server, OR there are a lots of server? OR I only can connect to Malaysia server? Because some said that Xbox has more gaming player.. hmm?

4) Do tell me any more information regarding PSN =)

5) Does PS3 able to watch *ehem* dvd movies? or downloaded movies?

1) u has to create it urself as many as u like coz psn acc is free.every user profile created in ur ps3 entitle for 1 psn acc.so if u create 10 diff user profile u can have 10 diff psn acc.

2)different between countrys psn acc is psn store.

3)if a ps3 games connect to a server its really depend on region that ps3 games.some games on9 are region lock and some not.

4)PSN is playstation network.u need an acc to connect to it.every ps3 games that has on9 multiplayers need to connect to psn 1st b4 they can go to their own server or use psn server as their own.refer to answer 1 about psn acc

5)ps3 can watch ahem movie but not all ahem movie can be watch on a ps3.DL movies also can but not all either.ps3 supported playback of some avi,mp4 and such file format

few other thing u need to know are DLC content downloaded from psn store.some are region locked.most ps3 games on9 uses psn acc as an id to connect to their server except konami based on9 games such as mgo,WE and PES.

hope that help

First of all, to make matters clear: The fail-safe fan running at 100% speed is NOT a way to clean your PS3 internals.

Its a fail-safe feature for the fan to run at full-speed, this is for technicians themselves to determine if the fan is spoiled or not. It is also used as a feature to clear up the bottled heat at the bottom of the PS3 after turning it off from a long gaming session.

The most effective way to clean your PS3 without voiding your warranty or opening your system up is using a fairly powerful non-static vacuum cleaner and a can of compressed air.

I'm using Ambersil Air Duster.

You can try finding it from Ace hardware, I got mine from a local hardware store at my place. Cost about RM55.

Emm, thanks for the information, however, I'm still not very clear about the "region" thing.

When you say region lock, do you mean the version of the game (etc. US MGS4, Malaysia MGS4 ) OR like it's locked due to the IP Address (shows Malaysia) ?

Regarding no.2, you said difference is the PSN store content right? So, is it when I create an PSN account and put US, it will show US content or do they able to locate my location (Malaysia)?

No prob, It doesn't matter which brand really, its just compressed air.
But do check for any leakage holes, and make sure the can is full and heavy. There are many unscrupulous shops selling compressed air can with only half left.

Region-lock are for multiplayer. R1 and R3 MGS4 are basically the same disc, so when you play MGO you connect to the US server. No luck for you if you want to play with Japanese or Europeans.

Creating a US PSN account will bring you to the US PSN store which only shows US content intended for the store. You have to create individual PSN accounts to access other stores like Jap, Europe, HK and SG.

Congrats! You got one of those rare gem. A collector item, IMO.  tongue.gif
Because of lack of wifi, you have to connect via hard-wire (Ethernet cable) all the way to your router ethernet ports.

But, if your PS3 is too far away from your router/dsl modem, you can still do wifi but you need to get one of those
Wifi client bridge and just connect via the short Ethernet cable. For example:
Buffalo Wifi Gaming Access Point.  smile.gif

Thanks. I got it at quite a steal actually. It was a faulty set. So that guy sold it to me for RM 550. I fix the lens and the disc tray for another 350. All good to go. Ebay does wonders. Ok. I'll get a ethernet cable. Thanks

Finally can play MGS 4

actually its better to hook up the ps3 using the network cable. more secure line. apparrently on MGO you cannot host unless you are connected via network cable.

Not true.

I've hosted quite a few number of games on MGO, my PS3 is connected through Wi-Fi. Not using an ethernet cable.
