My one and only Purple Smoke Bush - Cotinus Coggygria
Propaganda from a branch cutting 4 years ago, re potted recently in a 50mm height
pot which is actually cut from a portion of a large pot. Trimmed and partially defoliated.
It will need sometimes to recover before getting back the beautiful thick purple foliage.

(I've seen a stunting gigantic Purple smoke Bush bonsai in a famous bonsai nursery but
unfortunately no photos are allowed. Anybody got the experience of bonsai of this species to share?
I'm looking forward to learn more about it.)

I saw this in one nursery in Melaka last saturday, Oasis Nursery , 1 normal garden nursery but sell big shui mui garden plants and also the limau rawit, and i saw this plant too. i think got about more than 10 pots there. Seems old. i ask the onwer , she is selling at rm50-60 per pot. can be made into med size bonsai..

I'd like to share some of my first desmodium (blue bells) with natural deadwood.
Still in training progress.
This is one of the most favorite species in our country ( beside Ficus benjamina, wrightia religiosa , Antidesma ect)

umm, should i style my buddhist pine now, or wait a while more? finally got rid of the aphids.. used soap solution to spray on it last time, did it twice, didn't kill all of it but reduced it.. used fendona solution to spray on it once and tadaa, got rid all of them rclxms.gif btw, the fendona solution i got it from my parents, they use that to spray their room last time coz the room got infected with bed bugs

and now busy with the juniper dy. sprayed it with fruit peels solution. not sure what it's called but in chinese, my grandparents call it "xiao su". they just put fruit peels into a bottle for many many months, don know much about the detailed instructions to make it XD all i know is it smelled real sour, really really sour.. it smells nice but after a while, i'm sick of that smell. hope it works and won't kill the juniper

Main component - coconut fiber, burnt soil, burnt husk, humus soil and minor amount charcoal powder.

Btw, how's your Indonesia imported buxus harlandii doing? You got it recently or have been with you for sometime?

Hi Protowira,

Wow! What awesome materials you have! drool.gif rclxms.gif
Desmodium, especially with natural hard wood is something that could hardly be found in our country.
I understand that many temperate tree species can be found in your country, can pine species bonsai also
be commonly found in HCM city areas?

You can twist and bend your Buddha pine at this stage as it's still young.
