2-3 layers every 2-3 months .... depending on type of wax used and the nature of the product ... depends oso ur environment eg where u park ur car, ur driving environment etc

eg: NXT Tech Wax ... 2-3 months tahan ... with weekly washes n a quick detailing spray after each wash to boost wax ...

THanks. But i cant seem to find any clay here at my place. crap.
the product i shown is polish (turtlewax colorback) right? i need too wax after applying this product?
*
everytime u polish u paint goes a wee thinner ... so to protect it wax is needed ... so choose a good 1 ... durable yet gloossy and sexyyy ...

BTW ... i have a new bottle of NXT TechWax for sale ... letting go cheaper den market price .. PM me tongue.gif

i just got swirls on my car boot cos of the guys at the accessory shop recommended  me a wrong product. my car is pearl white. i bought a japanese product called soft 99 wax. they hv 2 types. one in blue can & the other is the stainless steel can. both r meant for different kind of paint. i took the guy's words & bought the blue one as recommended by him. so i applied it on my car boot just to test it. after tht, i realise i got swirls all over the boot. i only realise the instructiion said to use only on solid paints & not on metallic paints. but too late liau.....
the following day, i went to check out the stainless steel can & the instructions says for metallic & pearl paints & safe for use, won't harm paint. i bought it & tried removing the swirls but can't.
really kek sim cos my car not even a mth old. now i dun even dare to wax my car. i even bought 2 soft 99 stainless steel cans.....sigh.
Any idea how to remove the swirls? it's really bad when u look at an angle under bright light.
i wana DIY car detailing but now just to afraid my hurt the paint work again.
i just realise sponge is not good for car wash after reading this thread.
hope bros here can build up my confidence again.
tq in advance for any kind advice & guidance.

try asking those who have dark coloured car tongue.gif .. esp black ... lagi swirl ovious

Anyhoot, Dude ... items to get ...

1. ScratchX(S.X) ... mild polish to remove swirls n scracthes
2. ColorX(C.X) ... restores colors n heals slight swirls
3. NXT TechWax ... Great Wax (saw a fellow forummer selling it cheap)
4. Soft99 Claybar .... surface prep (got 2 types ... 4got wat is wat d)
5. Good MicroFiber cloths (VERY IMPORTANT)
6. Applicator pads, preferable Megs Applicator pads or Even coat applicator pad (if u can get) ...
7. Quick detailer (if u have extra budget)
8. Wash mitt (if u really extra extra budget) but the results is obvious oso la
(above products will last ur at least 2-3 years la)
Remember: Good things no cheap, cheap thing no good tongue.gif ... Esp in detailing tongue.gif

Steps:
Wash -> Clay -> Wash -> Dry -> Polish (S.X) -> buff -> inspect paint -> S.X again(if necessary) buff n again(if necessary) -> buff -> C.X -> buff -> NXT TechWax ->buff -> after 6 hrs -12 hrs -> NXT TechWax 2nd layer -> after 6 hrs -12 hrs -> NXT TechWax 3nd layer -> buff .... -> sit back n go WOW!! shocking.gif wub.gif drool.gif
You ca terus apply 2nd and 3rd layer after u buff off but i prefer to let the wax set lor ... or u mayb can do it after 2-3 hours lor ... if u keep till d next day, a clean fast wash to clear the dust n dirt n ur ready to put a few more layers .. 3 max n mre den tat redundant tongue.gif ... effect same ... still wub.gif
After this u can repeat such work in another 3-6 months .. in the mean time juz normal wash and use a quick detailer to boost ur wax ...

Note: Apply wif applicatior pad, Buff wth MF ... normal towel or cloth = more swirls

Dun send ur car to detailing centers. Nowadays they cant b trusted. They use morning towels!!! shocking.gif ... apart frm the really mahal n well known good ones which charge 500-700 but gila great results. U can do it urself too!!
Do the work urself n sweat it out n savour the moment la!!
I use Meguairs as they are well known for their products and the quality of it in terms of glossy and durability and quality. Zaino is harder to get in Msia. The rest u can get frm Enoes or HomeFix. If u willing to fork out more den can try AutoGlym oso. But I recon NXT as a LSP(last step product) for tat WOW n protection.

BTW, wax doesnt heal n repair swirls n scratches, it oni covers it up ... polish oni can do it .. since ur car new better spend some $$ to jaga the paint so tat can tahan in future ..

personally wax or sealant needs time to set and bond ... eg: NXT Tech Wax is Synthetic Sealent which is diff frm normal conventional caunaba wax ...

Caunaba wax doesnt last as long as sealent ... IMHO la ... but it give tat wet gloosy look ...

So Best is to have at least 2-3 hours of self bonding of the wax wif the car. So the 3 layer those places do is oni visually stunning but durability as well as realiability and protection is ... wel ... try both n c for urself la ... results vary dramatically

do it once a month or every 2-3 months shud b ok ... plus is u have done the correct steps ...

Yes, any tar remover will strip off wax. So after you've removed some tar spots, be sure to seal it up with wax again.

Are you asking about general applicator pad? The come in all types. I would suggest using the best microfiber cloth and fold it up to use as an applicator.

I duno if dis is out of topic, wana ask about tyres...

1) How do we keep and maintain the "blackness" of our tyre?
2) How do we re-blacken(new word tongue.gif ) our tyre after the color has faded?
3) Heard from a friend that cleaning tyres with normal car soap will make the
"blackness" fade off, izit true?

Thx in advance from any car detailing experts... and sorry if i was out of topic blush.gif
