wash using armorall or eagleone tyre and rim cleaner (removes brake dust + dirts), can do with the help of toothbrush. then use tyre shine or leather + tyre polish (armorall) thingy. it will make ur tyres shiny, black and with wet-looks! haha...

however, those tyre shine spray ones wont last that long. better use those wax-like ones. depends on weather condition, if no rain it can last bout 2-3weeks. rainy days ah...max one week lo. haha...

for the fade off thingy, yeah. but after washing, usually i recoat the tyres with tyre shine stuff. so it is still black and shine! hehe...

thanks for the feedback. i got another question. if u really want to let the 1st layer wax settle down for 6-12 hrs, can i use the car in between the settling down period? then only apply 2nd coat after using the car.(assume my car has not kena any rain or water) i m asking cos it's really impossible to wait for 6-12 hrs if u really need to use the car.

haha... ^cash^ , orange skin is actually a term for paint surfaces that isn't smooth (eg, park your car under a lighted fluorescent lamp then check the reflection on your paint surface.. if it looks wavy, it'll look like orange skin tongue.gif)

how people get rid of it is usually to give the car a good polishing and waxing job.. sometimes, that includes sanding as well.. i'm not sure how to do it but i know those professional car care centre should be able to get it done wink.gif

try asking those who have dark coloured car tongue.gif .. esp black  ... lagi swirl ovious

Anyhoot, Dude ... items to get ...

1. ScratchX(S.X) ... mild polish to remove swirls n scracthes
2. ColorX(C.X) ... restores colors n heals slight swirls
3. NXT TechWax ... Great Wax (saw a fellow forummer selling it cheap)
4. Soft99 Claybar .... surface prep (got 2 types ... 4got wat is wat d)
5. Good MicroFiber cloths (VERY IMPORTANT)
6. Applicator pads, preferable Megs Applicator pads or Even coat applicator pad (if u can get) ...
7. Quick detailer (if u have extra budget)
8. Wash mitt (if u really extra extra budget) but the results is obvious oso la
(above products will last ur at least 2-3 years la)
Remember: Good things no cheap, cheap thing no good tongue.gif ... Esp in detailing tongue.gif

Steps:
Wash -> Clay -> Wash -> Dry -> Polish (S.X) -> buff -> inspect paint -> S.X again(if necessary) buff n again(if necessary) -> buff -> C.X -> buff -> NXT TechWax ->buff -> after 6 hrs -12 hrs -> NXT TechWax 2nd layer -> after 6 hrs -12 hrs -> NXT TechWax 3nd layer -> buff .... -> sit back n go WOW!!  shocking.gif  wub.gif  drool.gif
You ca terus apply 2nd and 3rd layer after u buff off but i prefer to let the wax set lor ... or u mayb can do it after 2-3 hours lor ... if u keep till d next day, a clean fast wash to clear the dust n dirt n ur ready to put a few more layers .. 3 max n mre den tat redundant tongue.gif ... effect same ... still  wub.gif
After this u can repeat such work in another 3-6 months .. in the mean time juz normal wash and use a quick detailer to boost ur wax  ...

Note: Apply wif applicatior pad, Buff wth MF ... normal towel or cloth = more swirls

Dun send ur car to detailing centers. Nowadays they cant b trusted. They use morning towels!!!  shocking.gif  ... apart frm the really mahal n well known good ones which charge 500-700 but gila great results. U can do it urself too!!
Do the work urself n sweat it out n savour the moment la!!
I use Meguairs as they are well known for their products and the quality of it in terms of glossy and durability and quality. Zaino is harder to get in Msia. The rest u can get frm Enoes or HomeFix. If u willing to fork out more den can try AutoGlym oso. But I recon NXT as a LSP(last step product) for tat WOW n protection.

BTW, wax doesnt heal n repair swirls n scratches, it oni covers it up ... polish oni can do it .. since ur car new better spend some $$ to jaga the paint so tat can tahan in future ..

Its 2days paint which has tat shine ... the components inside it ... but its also very hard to jaga compared to cars last time ... d paint i mean tongue.gif ... well ... u pay for a good looking car lo ... car paint nowdays r more vulnerable as should get attention n love frm their owners laugh.gif wub.gif thumbup.gif

ColorX is basically a paint cleaner with some wax component in it ... but its NOT wax ok? .... I would say use the same method to an old junk but juz a bit more passion n work n effort it shud do it wink.gif

U hafta try it to know it ... but remember ... all the steps r important ... frm claying to polishing to cleaning to waxing n waxing ... wink.gif

Dun pay .... we all can be come detailers ... juz need the time wink.gif ....

Washing your car tips
--------------------------

Washing and polishing a car is a fairly easy task if care is taken to do the job properly. Here are some suggestions for doing the best job in minimum time with maximum results:

. Choose the right soap for washing the car. Household or laundry detergents are not recommended since some contain harsh abrasives and chemicals that can mar the car's finish. Even dishwashing detergent is not recommended since many contain various chemical additives that can damage car paint. Soap specifically manufactured to wash cars can be purchased at any auto parts store.

. Never wash a car in direct sunlight or while the motor is still hot. (Drive thru washes are not recommended, wait till the engine cools down.)

. Hose any excess dirt from the car exterior. If possible, using a high-pressure sprayer is best. This will help to dislodge stubborn dirt and debris.

. Use a soft sponge or terrycloth towel to lather the car, starting with the roof. When the roof has been cleaned, rinse the soap off completely. Repeat this process with each side of the car, including windows, tires, etc., doing one side at a time. Washing one side of the car at a time will prevent soap from drying on the car before it is completely washed.

. After all sides have been washed and rinsed, rinse the entire car, beginning with the roof.

. Using a soft dry towel, dry the car thoroughly, starting again with the roof and doing all four sides one at a time. Extra dry towels may be needed for this as towels become saturated with water.

. Using another towel, wipe all chrome and metal until water spots are removed.

. Clean windows inside and outside with window cleaner or a solution of water and white vinegar.

Before beginning to polish the car, read the instructions on the label of the product you have chosen. All waxes and polishes do not have the same instructions for use. Polishes come in several forms. You may wish to check with auto parts store personnel to decide which best suits your needs.

Here are some general suggestions that apply to most car polishes:

. Always choose a shady area to polish a car. This helps prevent streaking.

. Only work on one small section of the car at a time.

. Use a soft terrycloth towel or specially-purchased cloth to apply the polish.

. Apply polish with a circular motion. Then allow polish to dry to a haze.

. Using another dry towel or cloth of the same type, buff the polish.

. Adding extra layers of polish is not necessary since each layer added removes the previous layer.

. If road tar adheres to any area, remove with a small amount of WD-40 on a soft clean cloth. Wipe off quickly and rewax the area.
