Hmm...Melaka is known for traditional Baba Nyonya food. If you want decent steak, KL is suitable places.

i'm also looking for places to have nice a decent steak in melaka.. planning to celebrate bday for my gf.. its a 21st bday.. so hopefully can get to dine in a fine restaurant.

any recommendation? i read about the italian food located in a hotel which have gud environment and beach view in the earlier pages. i'm quite interested... maybe gonna check the places 1st.

besides that any other recommendation? i've been to nadeje many times, i like the environment there.. but there are too little choices for food.
Anyone tried dining in Taro before? i heard it has a large variety of steaks rite? how was it?

I was only asking since I'm not originate from Malacca. KL I know so MANY places serves good steak DUH. Just that my sister loves to eat italian and mexican food. wink.gif

KL here got LOADS of KFC and kenny rogers. LOL brows.gif brows.gif

I know about those chicken rice ball and cendol. laugh.gif Evertime go down to Malacca SURE EAT one. rclxms.gif

Any good CurryLaksa in Malacca town?

I personally like the laksa & chicken ball rice stall at the road side along Pasir Klebang. The stall NO NAME one. tongue.gif

Besides that, NEVER GO TO NANCY"S KITCHEN. THE FOOD THRE SUCKS BADLY. Somemore that time I brought all my cousin from US down because they heard that Nancy Kitchen was good. It was the OPPOSITE.

I prefer to eat the Seafood in Portuguese Village. I bring my own fish, prawn and sotong for the uncle at Stall number 8 to cook. Recomend stall number 8 =) the uncle's cooking not bad thumbup.gif

One more thing, Dont ever go to the stall number 7 in Portuguese Village. I have seen with my OWN EYES the COCKY chinese auntie just PICK UP THE FISH THAT DROP ON THE FLOOR!!! and put it back onto the PLATE!! mad.gif shocking.gif I bet those people got stomach pain after eating the fish. THe floor is normal Tar road groud. YUCKSS!

Just my 2cents whistling.gif

you can try Olio Italian Restaurant at Renaissance Malacca, went there yesterday, superb food and nice environment. Met Chef Wan there as well, he was shooting an episode of his programme there earlier that day and will be on air on 18 Jan. Took some photos of the food Photo Link

Avoid coming down to Malacca during peak period (i.e holiday season, long weekend and etc.) other than that, traffic should be fine.

This is my 1st time seeing Malacca's traffic that bad as well....We Malaccans hate it as well sad.gif

Newton food court O'cien (Should be Jln Syed Abdul Aziz hmm.gif ) abit overpriced..almost similar to KL pricing already! If Bunga Raya (Very long que...& very popular) is not your taste, u can try the one in Jonker street pasar Malam. (Very near to the performance stage area..not bad & reasonable.

Before the removal of the dirty/old food stalls fronting Newton food court, there were actually 2 competing O'cien at stall no 7 & 9 which were also not bad. The owner of stall no 7 had moved out to Banda Hilir food court opposite the Banda Hilir Prison (Jln Parameswara) but too bad the O'cien degraded further sad.gif ..No 9 stall dunno go where..long time closed shop even b4 1990!

Im suprised nobody suggested Wok and Pan. You should try tht place for western food. but its non halal..they serve pork chops and pork ribs. Its just opposite nadeje at plaza melaka raya.

IMO, jonker cendol is very overrated, for nice, thick and creamy cendol, go to Makko restaurant along melaka raya, few shops away from friends cafe.

oh, dont goto Taro..food isnt nice. place is nice. but its closed down already as i type this.
