woah stimix, that's a very long long list.. hehe.. haven tried b4 colorless wan tan mee in Melaka, Must try one of these days after ur comments.. oni tried in KL which is also known as Hakka Mee (colorless wan tan mee) but taste not so good if compare to wan tan mee.. Jln Nunga Raya??.. not really familiar wif the road.. haha, guess i need to do more xploration in Melaka.. Luv the satay celup in Melaka esp. the Ban Lee Seng.. forgot wat's the road name.. too many roads to remember.. Hi capiche, i've tried the famous 'he kiau mee', it's oso known last time as 'under big tree stall' but i recall the quality drop alot if compare to the last time one.. it's oso located at somewhere near to the Hassan's mee goreng place there.. opposite a badminton hall.. is this the one tat u r talking about? |

that is weird.. i have never heard ppl calling it 'chou tie mee' instead of 'he kiau mee'.. even a 70 years old granny that has being staying there for almost 50 years called it 'he kiau mee' wo.. and previously the business there quite good one, it was handled by current owner's old folks until they pass away after that, the current owner took over the job.. the look of the mee is still the same, oni the taste is not the same as the old folks one.. but neway, i guess u can go there n check it out.. n tell us ur verdict, stimix.. hehe..

QUOTE(attacusatlas @ Dec 9 2009, 06:58 PM) hmm, unless you want to buy some cheap cosmetic there, or adjourn to the Si Ham stall behind it, or take a few minutes walk down the street for the infamous Fried Oyster, other than that, you may want to give Mdm King a miss. yeah, i want to try the fried oyster.. any specific shop name? is it a shop or just a bike with selling fried oyster? please enlighten.. i only know about the popiah at mdm king that is popular.. Another question, how far is Eye of Malacca to Red house? Is Eye of Malacca open on 9am -5pm, weekdays and weekend, Anyone? Thanks.. This post has been edited by ranchu: Dec 10 2009, 11:08 AM |

QUOTE(attacusatlas @ Dec 11 2009, 12:05 AM) the fried oyster is just a few minutes walk down the street. it has been highlighted in the previous pages. however the quality has been deteriorated lately - a lot of flour, less and less oysters despite long queue. i stop patronizing the stall since then. you can find more info from this blog, and no, it is not my blog: Thanks for the feedback.. http://tummy-rumble.blogspot.com/search/la...round%20Malacca the si ham stall is worth a try, just behind the Madam King. Added on December 14, 2009, 10:41 am QUOTE(crapoccur @ Dec 11 2009, 12:11 AM) By Red House do u mean the Stadhuys and the clock tower area? If yes then the eye on malaysia is quite a distance. Definitely cannot walk. Need transport. Not sure what time open but go later safer. In fact the eye is pretty isolated. So its not walking distance from anywhere lol. Yeah, the stadhuys and the clock tower area.. i reckon nothing much there interesting other than the red building.. this place is near to Mahkota parade right? from renaissance to there, far? bringing my old folks to the historical place for a visit since they have not being there before... Yeah, it's eye of Malaysia, think it's not in town area?.. got it mess up.. This post has been edited by ranchu: Dec 14 2009, 10:41 AM |

Back from malacca.. it's an enjoyable trip eventho it rains all day long.. we had all sort of foods..
Porridge at river banks was delicious, curry laksa and nasi lemak too.. tried O-chien from bunga raya food court, seems moderate.. but long queue.. Popiah at mdm. king was close during our stays there.. bad luck.. BLS satay celup was packed with so many people.. food was okie.. but stuffy place.. Didn't manage go to Chung wah chicken rice shop due to heavy rain but when we passed by, lotsa people.. went for duck tour.. saw eye of Malaysia.. tour was a lil' boring.. but expensive ride, per adult RM38.. Jonker street, bought pineapple tarts n herbal tea.. packed with people again.. hard to get parking.. basically, it's all food rather than sigh-seeing.. hehe.. Thanks again for all the helpful tips..
