hi sifu-sifus,

any recommendation for a 1HP ac (non-inverter) which the compressor is quiet when operating? How about Pana 1HP, is it ok?

The reason is my middle room ac compressor is located in master room's balcony (both room are next to each other), so assuming that middle room open the ac while i am not (so i open the master room balcony window), I dont want the compressor operate so noisy that I cant sleep at nite...

any recommendation? thanks!
Ms Sim

The hot weather make us appreciate our aircon more. Last week i decided take a good
look at my room a/c panasonic 1hp. The air flow is coming from one side only and quite
weak. After poking around managed to remove the outer cover and exposed the fan, coil
and water tray. It was last full serviced 1 year ago but i was shocked at the condition inside.
the blower fan blades was covered by furry dirt. Some areas of the coil looks like a mushroom farm
but the most disgusting was the slime and jelly dripping from the cooling coil into the water tray.
Our aircon looks nice and clean outside but inside it is a germ factory and we breath the air every night.
Anyway i bought some non toxic aircon cleaning spray from hardware shop and clean the aircon myself
First time so a bit messy but results quite good. Cold and strong air after service. cost me RM30.00
only . Got 2 more units to clean another day.
Manufacturers recommend service every 3 mths but i feel 6mth minor service and every year
full chemical service is minimum for good health. (also buy a separate air purifier for added protection)

I always use dettol or any antibacterial cleaner to spray at the condenser to clean it. Doing this every month when clean the filter.

And tilt the aircon more to the drain pipe. So the condense water don't remain at the drainer and dry fast.

better get professional air cond man to do an overhaul chemical service, more effective and long-lasting for the result.

Bad luck.. my 1.5 years old York Cooling King Essential 1hp coil sensor faulty. RM60 to replace. The technician told me that 9 out of 10 york air con faulty because of this coil sensor problem.

Symptom is after the air con been running for half an hour it will shut down the compressor and only normal air blowing with the amber timer light blinking. When you restart the aircon it be ok but then after another half an hour same thing repeat. Thats the time you need to replace your coil sensor.

Stick to Panasonic Inverter aircons. Ive been using for past 2 years and no problem at all so far. Cooling effect is fast and air is always fresh.

The installer sor chai never test the aircon for you? After instal, he left and let you test it? He didn't teach you even how to ON/OFF?

I mean the holder (steel bar) unbalance causing the compressor "senget".
