I did not install a 2HP aircon. I have only 1 HP and 1.5HP.
If you intend to install the 1.5HP aircon using the initially installed copper piping for the 2HP, it should be OK.
You cannot install the 1.5 HP to a 1HP copper piping
yeah that is in my mind also, bigger HP pipe can use for smaller HP aircond, but not the other way.....so just asking anyone have similiar experience.
another thing is my living room ceiling height is about 9ft, and the total enclosed living+dining area is roughly 360sqft (12ft x 24ft = 288sqft rectangular area for living+dining, and another 14ft x 3.5ft = 49sqft for corridor to bedrooms, and a small 24sqft for main door entrance attached living room, so total 288+49+24 = 360sqft space)
I search some online BTU/h calculator and found 2 type of answer, some calculator give me roughly 12000+ BTU which means that i need to put a 1.5HP ac, but some website give the calculation like 360x60 (60 is like a 'miracle number to calculate the BTU figure) = 21600BTU which means i need to put a 2HP ac.
the price between 1.5 and 2HP ac really differs a lot (~rm600+), therefore i am confused whether which HP to choose.
FYI ,my kitchen is separated from this area by glass sliding door, and there is only 1 side (roughly 12ft length) of the wall (which is actually a glass sliding door to balcony) is facing South direction. My usage for the ac is only daytime can give me 22-26degC cooling, i am not going to put the ac temperature to below 20degC (like I am staying in north pole, hahaha).
So i really need you sifu-sifu's help about the HP figure....
