Just curious, I checked online and Mitsubishi Starmex is normally available in Singapore. Here in Malaysia Mistsubishi market it as Mr. Slim Inverter. I called in the salesperson in Mitsubishi Electric Penang and he told me Mr. Slim Inverter and Starmex is the same thing, just different in brand naming.

So, is this true? Btw, The aircond costs RM1980 w/o installation for 1.5hp.

I just had a outdoor unit repair on my Mitsubishi Electric, MR Slim. It just pass one year, luckily the warranty cover 2 years. And their repair service is very fast and efficient. Thumbs up for Mitsubishi Electric Service in Malaysia.

Look for peter if u're asking from letrik weng hing cause i think he's the boss, the other staff marked up the price when i wanted to buy then i had to find him to get better price lol.

Last time, one of the booth at perfect livin' offered me rm930 w installation for the non inverter 1hp. the most basic model. So i'm guessing it should be slightly more by +/- rm50 at retail stores.

1. based on the layout and dimension, does the a/c capacity is sufficient? is it underpower or overpower?
2. i will do a divider for the living & dining area
3. is it a good idea to place the a/c at the place in the guest room? or should i change direction? reason i choose that small place is so that i can install back to back tongue.gif terrace house have headache when comes to the piping routing

Master bedroom install 1.5hp good enough.

The rest all is just right, bedroom 2 try to adjust the blower put at center of toilet area.
If not will regret of the air won't suit until end of door.

see attached drawing with orange colour is original a/c point with drain pipe which developer provide

1. living room i change location becoz if i use back original location i need a long piping for my compressor. i dont want compressor near my main entrance.

2. i change location for dining as well so that my piping can go through the maid room area easily. shorter piping also.

3. original location for bedroom 2 is the one u mention i guess? due to b2b installation also thats why i switch it further back. now like u say worry on the coldness. maybe i need to upgrade to 1.5hp?

4. master bedroom 1.5 enough? coz my balcony area will be seal up, then there will no longer have any door over that place. it will be a study area there. so open space increase.

btw, the hp that i propose is based on normal a/c not inverter. does that affect as well?
and my floor to ceiling height is around 10ft high for ground floor and 9.5ft for 1st floor

If you're just on it for less than 8 hours then can forget about getting inverter. So, i don't plan to get any inverter for my new house since i will only on it during night time and for less than 8 hours. icon_rolleyes.gif

From non inverter operate to 8 hours.
Calculate from 1hp only

Non inverter input watt : 0.8kw per hour.
30 days on 192kw x 3 units per mth : 576kw

Vs

Inverter unit cut down 50%
0.4kw x 8 x 30 = 96kw x 3 units of 30 days = 288kw = cheap.

For few months you earn back the installed with the whole unit cost.

There surely some reduction in power consumption if u use inverter a.c.. but it wont be that much.
