Hexagon water filter from cosway.
it has certifications as well from chemical and US scientist. You just need to read the booklet that comes in it.
at least i trust them cause they do not hang poster like diamond and other brands at roadside.
Buy 1 free 1. hahaha. where got quality product sell at roadside??? lol!

Hexagon
rm699 if member and pay by cash.
rm1300 if pay by credit card or non member.

been using it for 3 years since i move to my new house.
once the rubber was leaking. called cosway, the guy came over the next day. replace all the parts. best part is that he did not charge me anything.

he said it's because still under warranty. then only i know it's 5 years warranty free for all parts. after 5 years. rm50 per service.
*
Few years back when i was the 1st batch that use these so call hexagon water filter, so many problem comes up, leakage always,so many round until i lost count. One day I couldnt bear with their lousy product anymore I ask my lawyer to sent them a letter of demand of full payment plus the damages for time wasted failure with I will pursuit legal action. Promptly after 2 weeks I receive a cheque from them. After that i swear this whole life I will use not their lousy water filter product.

FYI: i am using this setup:

normal sediment filter (buy one size larger than recommended) - only sand! this traps dirst and particles. the single flow valve and two basic carbon filters to remove chlorine and chemicals etc. (change one filter every three months). single flow valve so the carbon cant leach in the sediment filter and encourage growth of bacteria and algae i dont want. this water is the main feed. for drinking add the panasonic filter catridge (dialysis filter type) that traps any bacteria and other elements. need only be changed annually at 1XX per replacement. the water i get from there i got tested: after 12 months still drinking water quality as per europe requirement. so this is very safe. carbon block is dirt cheap - 5 bucks per pop and the sediment filter can last forever its basically a small sewage system, easy to setup and save enough. no use for UV light and all when you store the water in a bottle afterwards. just keep in colored glass to reduce growth of bacteria etc. and dont keep for more than two days. no need to be over obsessed with the whole thing.

also: RO water is dangerous! without the minerals you can do serious harm to your body if you drink a large amount. reason is osmosis. cells want to be in an equilibrium with the surrounding liquids with respect to water. so now you add RO which has no salt. salt concentration in cell is too high. the cell cant release salt only can take in or remove water. so it will take in water... in extreme cases until cell bursts. stupid system - not only in singapore not recommend but plain illegal in europe.

I'm not kaya to buy RM4K-5K water filter that still need $$$$ to replace its filters...that's why I go for rental.....for just RM110 per month (auto charge to my credit card), I need not worry a thing.....in fact I guess Coway must be so worried that I might shift house and ran away with their asset  brows.gif

I have done a bit of survey myself before decided on Coway  hmm.gif  Like I said in previous post, water filter won't work as it should, if the filters not serviced where you would end up drinking contaminated water like me before. There's a good video at www.mycoway.net that explains how their filtering system works.

I realized that Coway has a dedicated team to do just servicing every 2 months where they will clean the device and change the filters as per schedule. Not only that, after each time the Coway personnel came to my house, I sure get phone call the next day to verify whether the personnel did the right thing, wearing uniform, look presentable etc. Last sekali dia akan tanya our own rating on the service received.
*
If in the house just me and my wife or one more kid, I will just buy the mineral water from market. RM110 can buy 110 bottle of 1.5l from tesco at the cost of RM1/bottle. If not mistaken tesco mineral water cost 99sen/botle. Divide a month would consume about 5,2l perday. That is enough for 3person. I guess mineral water would be better than those water filter. hmm.gif

some data on cheap water filters i'm planning for my hot-shower:

3/4 inch inlet filter housing (rm25 each @ carrefour)
Polypropylene sendiment filter (free w/ filter housing) 5 micron
cto carbon block filter (less than rm10) 5 micron (pensonic's is certified by NSF? -> http://www.pensonic.com/pproducts-pp.htm?c...=health%20care)

more about microns frm wikipedia:
1 micron = 1 micrometer, symbol µm, (1/1000 millimeter)

ceramic filter = 1 micron

human hair is about 100 micron wide (0.1 millimeter)
Red blood cells are 7 micron in diameter

dust mite > 250 micron
HEPA air filter = 0.3 micron
Bacterial = 0.3 to 5 micron
virus = less than 0.45 micron
Nanobacteria = less than 0.2 micron

diameter of Carbon nanotube = 0.001 micron
width of protein α helix = 0.0005 micron
smallest molecule diatomic hydrogen (H2) = 0.000074 micron
radius of hydrogen atom = 0.000025 micron

Do you mean you no need master filer for your whole house? I still suggest you get the master filter which will cost u around 1K plus for normal sand filter. You will appreciate it when you did the backwash as the water really look like kopi O....

I don't intend to buy master filter for whole house. reason is because the pipe in my home already got rust a bit, so intend to put filter at the kitchen only.

One question we need to ask ourselves when buying a water filter system: Is it CERTIFIED be able to filter harmful materials in your water? If not, why buy even if it is cheap?

i would say a stainless steal water filter around rm 1.1k would be sufficient. This is because most filters are made of fine sand, carbon, and etc. They are almost the same, therefore, you do not need to waste extra money for diamond and other expensive products.

i'm one amway espring owner...bot one about 1 month ago & installed at my in-laws house...got a trade in program with the old amway water treatment system II...got RM600 off...very happy with it...

i've just made payment for another set for my own home...

the price, if not mistaken, retails at RM4300 or something like that...but once you sign up as a distributor, you can buy for RM3200...distributor fee is RM80 and on top of that i heard they will give you back cash bonus...so actual price is like RM3000 or so...

i googled water filter and did some research before buying the first e-spring and it seemed, amways' espring is one of the best (if not the best) there is...i used the 2nd gen water filter before & it was great, but becos its so expensive i tried consider other brands...like i said, after googling and reading some info, i decided on e-spring.

also, i feels, this is water we consumes...we drinks this...so there shouldnt be any compromise...some filters may be cheap, like few hundred or less than RM100 but....just think..u dun buy this filter every year...the last filter lasted me about than 10years..along the way, yes filter needs replacements and they cost, but at the end, the cost is quite minimal compared to having cleaner water going into our systems...

btw, just to clarify, altho i signed up as Amway's distributor, i'm not pushing or selling their products...i only signed up cos of the e-spring...not interested in any of their MLM program or outings or anything like that...not looking for 'down line' or those sxxxx just sharing my thought here...

in the end just get something that u have confident in and ask around first...water very important since our body is 70% water and its not something that u want to save on

i googled espring and seems quite good. Another Cheaper alternative Aquaphor Crystal Eco.

Espring is 0.2 micron and using regular carbon block with UV light to kill bacteria.

Aquaphor Crystal Eco is 0.1 Micron hollow fibre membrane technology (can filter harmful bacteria), using CarbFibre Block Technology with Aqualen and Silver to neutralize bacteria. For more info drop by my showroom or check our online catalog

for my dad's place, i installed Bac-Free 'rocket' water filter for the mains...the first time i back wash it, OMG!!!! cant believe all these whiles, we've been drinking those water!!!

if you can imagine, how the water is like, if you scoop out a cup of water, from a tank, which has been soaked with rusted metal for 15yrs...yea...that's exactly what came out from the back wash....and i back wash it every 2-3 days...

and SYABAS got the nuts to tell its consumer "Air daripada Syabas adalah bersih" my left nut...

ohh...from the specs, the bac-free rocket filters water to something like 0.01 micron (whatever tat means) and you need another filter for drinking that filters down to 0.001 micron or something like that...

so rocket alone is not good enough for drinking...but ok for shower & rest of the use...

the rocket is so far the best thing i've bot for the house i think...

yeap, as i said a stainless steel filter like the rocket type is good enough, can filter til 5 micron, very good d. When you backwash, the water is as black as ur coffee, you will be shocked. However, you will need to be careful with the medium that the retailers are giving you, most of the cheap fibre type of filter will use local sand which are cheaper but not as fine as the imported ones. Ask what type of sand and medium they are giving to u b4 buying.
