looking to get electrolux ultimate care 700 fl 11kg

eventually pair with electrolux heat pump dryer 8kg

but realized electrolux always carry a premium to their prices, is this justifiable?
saw samsung heat pump can get 2k only

Somehow from experience, Electrolux machines almost always have PCB board issues.

Pls do buy extended warranty, whichever model you getting.

Any reason why you want to switch to front load?

I wanna try front load too but I remembered when I was a teenager, my mom was using a front load and I felt like it damage clothes more. Whenever I took it out to dry, the clothes are all tangled up and swirl. No such problem with top load. Perhaps my mom was overloading them? I do think front load is cleaner based on the smells on the shirt collar. My current top load can't remove them at all.

Tangling and swirling mostly is got to do with the spin speed. Higher speed spin = more wrinkles and tangles but you get less wet clothes which dries faster. Front loads are known for a fact to be gentler on fabrics than top loads. But maybe modern top loads had closed the gap regarding this. One fact that still doesn't change is water consumption though.

For front load its actually more important to know the type of clothes you are washing and use the appropriate cycle. Most people just assume cotton cycle is the only one to go (which is true in most cases still). The hand wash and delicates cycle are as equally important, the drum motion is different (less agitation) and it will default to a lower spin speed

Older front load wm and lower end model nowadays have a fixed drum motion depending on the cycle you choose. Some modern front load like those from LG have a 'AI' detecting function (actually is just a couple of sensors working and it only applies to some cycles like cotton) which detects the amount of clothes and material in the drum and selects the appropriate motion combo for it (for LG there's 6 different motions) which increase clealiness and reduces the damage to fabric

It depends on the wash motion, my parents have been using Front Loader from long before and we keep replacing our WM only with Front Loaders.

Even with our Panasonic clothes do get tangled up pretty bad, but that machine was very lousy when it came to balancing clothes and would frequently go out of balance.

I have been personally using LG since 2020 since AI direct drive launched and personally find this machine to be superior in terms of washing cleanliness and also in fabric care.

That said, there needs to be common sense when it comes to loading the machine; Jeans or pants zippers need to be secured (ie. zipped up and buckle up), as the unzipped zipper can act as a "saw" during wash cycle.

6 motion wash pattern is something unique to LG only, and for direct drive Front Load machine so far only Haier and TCL have it. Hitachi seems like have given up the Front load washing machine business, as I do not see them often.

LG has been with direct drive for almost 10 years now, and so far from my own use; I find the LG to be far more reliable than any of our previous Front Loaders.

From the replies here, safe to assume that LG shd be the way to go for FL? I am looking for one right now. On top of my list is an LG FL 10.5kg. But there is a tempting offer for Samsung 17kg FL. Although I don't really need that capacity. Pricing wise Hisense and Haier also tempting but not sure of their reliability

Thanks for the heads up. So cross Samsung off the list.
You know any reliable model and brand for 17kg and above?

My parent's Panasonic front load is having this problem, where the "paddle" gap will trap the loose end of the garments and cause it to get stuck there as per the picture below.

May I know how to remove the paddles to clear the leftover cloths? And how to prevent this? For now they just put those small clothes or those with the string inside a laundry bag, but it's additional work for them.

Thanks
