Did you buy it online? If online, possibility of mishandling during shipping is there.

My pedestal washer came dented and had to be returned for a new set.

I am using the LG for past 3 years so far on daily basis, so far so good with no error codes thrown even when washing single large heavy item like comforter (need to do zip fold when loading); compared to our Panasonic FL before this; which  needs a service call every year from year 1 of using until we sold it. 

From the replies here, safe to assume that LG shd be the way to go for FL? I am looking for one right now. On top of my list is an LG FL 10.5kg. But there is a tempting offer for Samsung 17kg FL. Although I don't really need that capacity. Pricing wise Hisense and Haier also tempting but not sure of their reliability
