Any idea why do they design the drain hose to flow upward?

I see most front load washing machines are designed in such way. It's weird to me because it is much more simpler if the drain hose is just flow downward and let gravity do the work.

Does it actually matters? Think of cleaning an aquarium. You use a siphon, it still suck the water out despite it being upwards instead of downward.

Less wrinkle? Less damage to clothes?
Seems cleaner than top load?
Recently try a few wash at outside dobby and feel like dis,but not sure true or not...

I wanna try front load too but I remembered when I was a teenager, my mom was using a front load and I felt like it damage clothes more. Whenever I took it out to dry, the clothes are all tangled up and swirl. No such problem with top load. Perhaps my mom was overloading them? I do think front load is cleaner based on the smells on the shirt collar. My current top load can't remove them at all.

got it fixed by technician (supported by LG) by replacing the water sensor. cost me rm95 for that unit + rm110 inspection fee

btw, how to reduce or remove the lint especially on black shirts? i cleaned the washer with baking soda, etc but my clothes still will get the lint sticked

I dont think that is lint... more like washing powder. Why dont you try adjusting the water level one level higher than the recommended one or switch to detergent.

else can try put your cloth in a laundry bag.

if you dont have a balcony at home, get combo type.

Anyone using front load at balcony with direct sunlight? Does the sunlight degrade the rubber seal faster?
