Any idea why do they design the drain hose to flow upward?

I see most front load washing machines are designed in such way. It's weird to me because it is much more simpler if the drain hose is just flow downward and let gravity do the work.

Actually you can put the drain hose down. My front load the drain hose is put down. And it run fine for over 10yrs.

The front-load has a drain pump and requires some water to remain in the hose for priming.

The bad of the hose up is the drain water will get bad and smell if long not drain out.

I don’t recommend front loading washing machine because the tub and the rubber ring can get very moldy even though you leave the door open after every wash or wipe dry. There is no way you can wipe inside, beneath the tub. And the rubber, just pull and see under it’s all black.

Top load have terrible water efficiency and not suitable for every installation place. Also the drain pump filter which u need to clean is usually located at the back.

Top load also tend to have less cleaning performance and harms your fabric more than a front load. But maybe the latest models with latest tech already solved this

Pick your poison

any reccomendations on 10kg washing machine

If you haven't bought, from personal experience I'd recommend LG FL.

All the LG washing machines that my family has owned lasted around 15 years each.

Yes, mold is always a problem. How long did it take for yours to become that moldy?

Anyone here using LG washing machine with the ThinQ app?

Just want to check something.... do you guys face issue where the Energy Monitoring and Cycles Used page is not recording the correct amount of cycles? On the other hand the Tub Clean Coach part is showing number of cycles correctly

Yes, I think it's a bit off but I didn't really double check. Maybe look at it closer starting today.

Bought the Hisense 10.5kg front load during the 9.9 sales, since it's the cheapest at this capacity (<1.3k after all the discount vouchers). wish me good luck sweat.gif

anyway will give some reviews here after i move in and start using it tongue.gif

p/s - ex-user of panasonic / electrolux front load here, so hope that it will not disappoint me sweat.gif

Just try to see if a record appears in Cycles Used once u done a cycle. For my case not all cycles are being recorded. Dont think its wifi issue because notifications after the cycle is done works fine so far

And Tub Clean Coach is showing the correct number of cycles because I know for sure i did more cycles than what the Cycles Used and Energy Monitoring page is showing

Weird. So u confirm every cycle u done is appearing in the Cycles Used page? Which model u using?
