hi sifus between this 2 option which is a better choice?

Panasonic (465 L)
https://www.panasonic.com/my/consumer/home-...-bx471wgkm.html

Hitachi (489 L)
https://www.hitachi-homeappliances.com/my-e...vg580p7m-1.html

I dont really mind top or bottom freezer so both is ok to me

I also noticed (from people review pics on shopee), the Panasonic model only have a 4 star energy sticker while Hitachi have 5 star despite both of them are inverter. Does it matter much?

Lastly how is their quality and support service?

Lowest power consumption is Top Freezer Bottom Fridge, but practical use; Bottom Freezer and Top Fridge is better.

Reliability Japanese (Panasonic or Sharp) is the best; I am using Samsung now for about 3 years. Had one Warranty Call due to damaged display LED (Warranty call was quick, Samsung Call centre even works on Sundays) otherwise good.

Hitachi has poor after sales support and in my case, dubious quality control; hence I wouldn't recommend this brand. Although the free replacement they gave us, is equally trouble free for these 3 years but my previous inverter Hitachi completely died without a chance of revival at the age of 5 years 3 days ( and its a batch issue, defective compressor)

I see relatives running Panasonic or Sharp Inverter without a hitch so far, for more than 6 years.

Generally Jap Brands > Korean >  China brand (Hisense, Midea or Toshiba, which is under licence by Midea at the moment)

Hi. Thanks for reply. Me too favour the Japanese brands for the long lasting quality, even though the Korean brands are fancier in design and features.

Panasonic or Sharp - Yeah agreed. What about Mitsubishi?

Shopee sellers: Anyone have bought fridges from Shopee before? if buy from shopee, the delivery will not do the installation right? So buyer has to do it themselves is it? How about the 10-years or 12-years warranty? Can we still get it from the manufacturer?

If you want hassle free product, payment after delivery and installation, buy from shops.

Unless you enjoy arguing with unseen seller over 'defective' goods and for cheaper price, go online.

Warranty is the same.

Check reviews and get from those with good track record of delivering products. Some online sellers do offer delivery and installation. And you can always ask them about warranty before proceeding to buy

Shopee sometimes slightly cheaper but if delivery is not by seller own transport best to avoid; difficult to claim from seller if got defect or dents.

I prefer to shop at ESH or TBM, as they somehow can match prices or go as close as possible to online offers.

So far bought my fridge and tv from them

Bought my fridge & washing machine at Shopee, both also cheaper by RM150 - RM250 compare to shop. But 1 thing before i place order, i make sure is seller's own lorry delivery, or at least is thier own arrangeddelivery agent, instead of Shopee's assigned courier agent.

Bought my TV also online via lazada, cheaper than shop by RM150, took risk as its J&T, but i self-collect at thier hub, luckily everything is fine.

Btythe way, warranty is by the brand itself, except for on the spot deliver and product failure, which shop will give u 1-to-1 exchange, or else, no difference buying at shop or online

I was also asking about this model few posts back but seems like no feedback. If you are ok with bottom freezer and the slightly higher power consumption i think its good to go.... Panasonic should be pretty reliable

Agreed. My current fridge is also a Panasonic, and has been running for at least 16 years, not a single incident. The only reason want to change now is because more people stay here now so need to get a bigger one, it is 300L. I'm looking for at least 420L now. It is also a bottom freezer model type, so we are used to it already.

Actually, bottom freezer not really consume more power significantly:

(Bottom Freezer) NR-BV320XSMY
322L, 374 kWh/year

(Top Freezer) NR-BL342PKMY
325L, 360 kWh/year

Panasonic Fridges Compare

Yeah, my current one is Panasonic NR-B320T, minimum 16 years in use, bottom freezer too, not a single problem, except that the plastic drawer at the freezer is cracked and cannot find a replacement.

Yeah but still it does consume more power, some people do mind that I feel. So far I havent spotted any bottom freezers with 5 star energy rating. Even the latest Panasonic bottom freezers with all the power saving tech only manages 4 star
