The last jedi has higher high but lower low moments than The Force Awaken.

Exact same feeling and thought and I also think tfa is better made. Tlj might have some good moments but I am bewildered at the high rating some people gave.... Many plots also feel there are there just so they can have the sequence next....
I am also annoyed by the editing that jumps between the ship escape and achto... Too short scenes in between that make me feel disconnected.... Anyone feels Rey character development is close to zero?

Sure there are good and cool stuff here - the veteran actors shine, especially Carrie Fisher getting more screen time and Adam Driver gives a compelling Kylo Ren. Its the horrendous choices they make (all in the name of being different - 'see you around kid' - this got into a StarWars movie WTF?, killing Snoke, demoting Maz Kanata into a Skype conversation) that really disappoint.

Oh wow that jump cut edit stood out for me - good catch - thought local censors made that cut - (apart from censoring Finn's cursing near the end at poor Tarth Phasma of Brienne).

Yup - the story was probably written around a checklist from the Disney Star Wars "brain" trust.

Rey - character development.. was very excited about her in TFA - here she pales to Kylo Ren and even General Hux - these two get the better scenes - an improvement from TFA.
Rey's scenes are mirroring Lukes training with Yoda in ESB - it tries very hard avoid being similar - and her time on Ach-to wasn't very fruitful - so any hope for development should be dropped.

JJ Abrams REALLY has his work cut out for him - not sure if he's laughing or crying over what Rian has done here.
I speculate this could almost explain Colin Treverrow's departure from EP9.

My rant.... years of conflict, Rebel alliance is out of budget with only few ships evacuating their base. Who the heck send bombers without proper protection. First Order also seems out of budget with little or few tie fighter in their armada.

General Hux should be sacked for delaying tactics to destroy the last of rebel alliance by taking 18 hours slow chasing bombing the last ship.

hence I totally ignore RT and critic/review in general. go watch and decide yourself.

I dun favor TLJ at all. it's pretty much the worst SW I've watch.

well, not the entire SW they hate else y wud they b SW fan. this entire pop culture span 40 yrs. u can't cater for everyone more so over the generations.

TLJ is obvious catering for a new generation. I read comment abt the "EPIC" lightsaber duel btw kylo and Luke. to me that is not epic, that is filler...

there is a whole army of fan who grew up wif 3PO, R2 and Chewie. all 3 were background characters in TLJ. there r scenes that these fan dun expect in SW.

TLJ tries to create a new audience while trying to still honor the old guard.

none of the star wars is perfect. we embrace the flaws differently. I juz dun like the flaw I see in TLJ.

well I'm heavily bias towards star wars I admit, disney can throw whatever crap at me and I'll still like and enjoy it. It's the only franchise that I'm bias towards, not even Marvel or DC have my interest

but that being said, the only flaw in the movie for me

just watched it.
and my rating for The Last Jedi is 2/5.
Yes . thats a 2 star.

dissapointed with the story line and acting.
a lot of WTF moments. "trying to be funny" at the wrong times.

mybe hv to watch it again. but im afraid it make me puke.

compare this with the Force Awakens opening, TLJ is far behind.

maybe ive put a very high expectation because of Luke.
ahh... just my 2 cents.

I rank The Last Jedi down there among the second trilogy.  this one felt strange.  no star wars feel.  this one is made for a new generation of fan.

Yup, agree that theres no star wars feel to it. Maybe a little. I dont mind about snoke that much but the fight scene in his chamber felt not smooth at all.

If not for Dbox effect (watched at IOI Putrajaya) I would definitely rank TLJ lower biggrin.gif 7/10 for me.

Betwen TFA and TLJ, i pick Rogue One anytime thumbup.gif

No Star Wars feel because Kylo Ren failed to live up as a strong and memorable villain. I miss Darth Vader soooooooo much. Heck, even Darth Maul is wwwaayyyy better than kylo ren.

Snoke summarised Kylo in the best way possible, "A child with a mask." Actually Kylo is supposed to be the best vader since his grandpa is literally darth Vader and his mom has strong force. Now what happen is Rey who is the daughter of some unknown junkies can be on par with Kylo. What man...... Facepalm.
