Well fanboys expecting fan service like TFA will be dissapointed with it for sure. Technically it's a better made movie than TFA but which better served as a SW saga is up for debate with the divisive responses. TLJ did a lot of subverting expectations...some work and some not.

Still waiting for someone who got the balls to do those KOTOR level of cinematic cutscenes. Those are the SW movies I want to watch. Hopefully it will come one day. They got close to it with Rogue One's Vader endscene. Alas E9 will be the least anticipated SW sequel for me as doubtful of JJ Abrams able to one up the action seqiences and filmmaking skills but he could watered down a fan friendly story for sure.

Would still pay good money to watch Rian Johnson's next trilogy and hope to take it into more uncharted territory. At this point just want to see something other than just the same old story beats. It just need to evolve from that old sandbox.

A very good read albeit a very long one.

TLJ has it flaws but I like the movie. Its a refreshing take at SW universe. After reading the article I kinda get where the hatred come from in this thread. I wonder how much it will make after receiving such devisive reception from audiences.

Now, JJ Abrams back in driver seat for next episode I wonder what will happens with Rians Johnson's vision. I guess I'll just have to wait for the new trilogy trusted to him.

It's like mixed of box of chocolates, sweet and bitter in between.

Enjoyable but disappointed at the same time.

Well I stayed until the last credit roll but no tribute either to Carrie fisher ? Wtf ?

For an actress that has contributed so much since the first star wars trilogy, the least you aspect them to do is pay tribute or some sort before or after credit roll but this look like they couldn't be bothered.

Or will we see some kind of tribute from the blu-ray ? I hope so.

Apparently there is, though I left as soon as the director's name appeared.

Shortly into the credits, a dedication appears onscreen that reads: "In Loving Memory of Our Princess, Carrie Fisher."

just like in Ep.6, Sidious enjoyed torturing & nearly killing Luke too much he didn't noticed his apprentice beside him slowly & slowly turning back to the light side

I have made some points about why most people do not like TLJ, please take some times to read it and see if you agree with them, thank you smile.gif https://medium.com/social-club/star-wars-vi...rs-242900754011

I just saw this and i feel the biggest casting mistake ever made was casting that actor to play Kylo Ren his dunggu/blur/duffus/goofy face really not manacing to play a bad guy.

I remember watching the first few start wars every time Darth Vader appear will get the chills.

i think the director of the last jedi do what needful in order to expand the story to be much greater than this. to me, the force awaken has already had so much problem, difficult to expand each of character n has many flaw..... so in the last jedi, they hae to kill some character in order to give some space for major character to expand. afterall continuing plot from the force awaken means we gonna see the same type of star wards. the last jedi try to clear out this problem, so they can turn out into more refresh new idea. cptain phasma gone so we can say goodbye to her. snoke die... so this can give focus to kylo ren n more interestingly how he can ve a bad empire by acting solo. usually, major villain has its boss.... but this time major villain hikself is the boss and bad ass. we also can see.... this episode, kylo ren ugly helmet was removed for sure. i think we need to give some faith for this new director to show his passion on star wars as he claimed he was a fan since childhood

Same... first movie I went to cinema this year without knowing the 'rating' no thanks to the late embargo tongue.gif Came out totally satisfied and was a little shaken/surprised by the audience response.

I'm itching to give my take on all the negative response, but perhaps another time.

I watched it on IMAX 3D - - if you want the 'loudest' and 'largest screen' experience, then it will be worth it in my opinion.

But note that the 3D is somewhat lacking (e.g. compared to 3D animated films) but does add a bit more depth.

Also... large a** subtitles covering the bottom 30% of the screen. Thank you multi language subtitle local cinemas.
