Happy4ever,

thread been around 2008 but you have NEVER once contributed.

Stimix is the moderator of this section. you could've pmed him to request it be updated, or just post it here nicely.

now already spoon-fed you, you could've just compiled the already given info to facilitate your update and make the thread betterbut you didn't and now give such crappy reply. i

information not found? ask nicely, as you can see information already given. let's not judge the value of a thread based on 1st post.

i don't blame the moderator. i don't blame the thread starter. things are bound to lose update, if anyone is concerned, he / she could do his / her part to contribute. can pm the moderator. don't need such whiny reply but don't do anything. smile.gif

you point noted (about 1st post update) but how you did it was certainly disappointing. thank you.

I come here to look for information to my liking.
I dont look for acknowledgments nor rewards.
Hence my contribution is of my own obligation, according to when and how I want to contribute, without due prejudice nor pressure from anyone whatsoever, in any way nor any reason.
Even if it has been around 2008, it was only recently that I found this thread, which is also based on the need-to-know basis.

Value of thread on 1st post do speak abt the depth of it. But its not my place to tell you of my opinion, since its not your obligation to listen. And no, I dont blame the Mods or the threadstarter. I only blame the thread itself for being lacking in information on first post. Its just inconvenient, thats all.

thank you. smile.gif

you're not wrong but my point was that instead of complaining away as what you did or blaming it, you could always do your part to change it.

anyway already gave you the list of non-Western FD restaurant. smile.gif

so yeah, you say information lacking? nahh i don't think so. not at 1st post also nmind since people contribute out of their free will, so if not found then just ask. that's what forum is about.............. no need to blame inconvenient or complain so much.

I had a very nice dinner at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at ParkRoyal Hotel Kuala lUmpur early of this year with my colleagues where i think this restaurant can is another worthwhile trying for Chinese food.. I am not sure what was the bill for two tables of us but i believe it should be fine dining prices for its fine cuisine.

oh btw just to add, the MIGF website list is LIMITED. smile.gif because it's just listing the participating restaurants - cost more than 10 grand just to be part of it. tongue.gif

another one i went to was Grand Millenium's ZING. met them at MIGF 2008 but they weren't around for MIGF 2009.

anyway, Zing serves nice DIM SUM! I also donno the cost cos they invite me go eat. pricing is about like RM 80 - 100 if I'm not mistaken, during their lunch dim sum buffet promotion. the dim sum price varies.

said to be pork-free la, got Malay visitors there. saw a few the other day.

Well i proposed for someone to update the first post, and highlighted a problem statement which I saw when I first came into this thread not too long ago. It wasn't a complaint. What I complained about was, the lack of coverage of asian food, and how western food sucks, based of course, on my prerogative judgment, of which is personal and my own prerogative immutable opinion.

Thanks for this list!

I always wonder why ppl only focus on western/frenchy fine dining.

Not much on chinese/Japanese or Asian fine dining.  hmm.gif

Its about time the 1st page is updated with more diverse list of restaurants instead of just the few western one. Its getting stale. Otherwise, we are seen to discriminate against asian cuisine over western ones.
*
@happy

Its not focus on western but I believe to get great food of western, you have to spend more since local western dishes are just normal or some of them are crap. Thats why this thread have big influence towards western cuisine. Btw, since you have raised this issue, thats why I try to post list that I make before weekend fiesta. I agree this thread are lack of those Asian Fine Cuisine like Malay, Indian and Chinese. Most people read and ask for recommendation in this thread are looking for great French, European to try maybe because everyday we are easy to get chinese, malay or indian at normal stall/restaurant.

Addition to the List that I know :- (Maybe Stimix can compiled on 1st Page)

Malay Cuisine
- Enak KL Starhill
- Bijan Jln Ceylon (I like this restaurant very much but I dunno whether can be on fine dining or not)
- Ibunda (Too expensive but worth a try especially their ambience and creativity)

Indian
- Bombay Palace (I like the decor and serves great north indian)
- Bangles Restaurant
- Saffron (Food was okay but the restaurant always empty)
- Vansh (I like the food here and worth the money)

I'm most disappointed in you vkeong. You have one of the top food blogs in Malaysia and you are acting and talking like this in a fine dining thread. I don't see you typing like that in your blog. Affects the credibility of the writer isn't it?
*
Hi Makakeke, if you didn't notice, I only reply /k/ style when I am replying to some of my friends IRL eg buntutman, happy4ever, vey etc. And I don't consider myself as having one of the TOP food blog? But I am honored for you to think so highly of me. So out of the respect for that, I will TRY to post more appropriately next time, since some of you find it bothering, as well as not creating any unnecessary troubles for my dear stimix didi.
