you could try places like Bruno or that Italian restaurant at Jaya33.

areas along The Curve has quite a few places like The Apartment, TGIF, TonyRs, Italiannes, the german restaurant behind TGIF balbalballba.

actually it depends on what you want. do you prefer dark environment? what type of food are you looking at?

not interest places like The Apartment, TGIF, TonyRs, Italiannes, too common nothing special. the german restaurant i tried before too...
no specified in what kind of food, as long as not Chinese, india, Malay food... prefer like those romantic, dimmed places, which allow couple wear pretty pretty to enjoy meal with good servicing type.

right. at least this gives us better view of what you want.

usually Hotels cater pretty well. I just had lunch at Westin KL and it was nice. No idea about the restaurants but I heard it's good.

personally, if I were you I'd top up the budget a bit more cos those places offer you what you had in mind are almost always more pricey.

how is Bruno environment? any website to recommend?

dark and dim, one secluded corner of the building.

sadly, most malaysians do not know the terminology.. They think TGIF is fine dining.. LOL..
haha. for people who are regular at fast food joints, hawker stalls and typical roadside restaurants, anything of higher grade IS call FINE DINING. tongue.gif It's just fine.

here are the restaurants for Fine Dining

http://www.migf.com/restaurants.html

(yes, MIGF is to promote fine dining.)

at least refer to here http://www.migf.com/restaurants.html for a head start.

how much can you afford? smile.gif

take for example Zing at Grand Millenium, I got to know them during my coverage of MIGF last year.

just a few months back they invited me for some food tasting. biggrin.gif seems like their weekend dim sum brunch buffet promotion is pretty alright, RM 55 (can't remember nett or not) per person.

huh? 55? for a dining place listed in migf site? drool.gif i thought places like that would cost about rm100 per head.... anyway, i can only afford rm150 at most for 2 person... somewhere halal, cos we're muslims.. if they serve alcohol, it's allright cos we can just order something else to drink... i really dunno much about fine dining, sorry.. i think my budget would only allow me to eat at a nice place like delicious cafe... sweat.gif
no pork in that dim sum. i was told that muslims go there to eat too. biggrin.gif

for budget RM 150 i go places like Tony Roma order nice full-rack beef ribs. brows.gif not sure if Alexis is halal, went there and was nice.

you can try The Apartment.

QUOTE(buntutman @ Jun 10 2009, 03:34 AM)
fine dining for gwailou is atmosphere.
fine dining for cinamen is expensive quality dishes.
see, the problem is the definition of EXPENSIVE.

to some TGIF / Chilis style is considered FINE dining already. biggrin.gif cos it certainly is more expensive than hawker / restaurant.

we're not that much into dim sums.. my family loves them though... hehe.. sweat.gif
hmm, i guess Tony Roma and The Apartment is quite convenient too.. since both are available at the curve... and i've been wanting to try out those ribs for quite some time now.. hehe. now i have a few available options! thanks goldfries! never knew u'd be helpful in stuff besides hardware.. thumbup.gif
*
i answer you here. biggrin.gif so no need reply your E-mail already hor. tongue.gif

aiyah even hardware guys need to eat.

if you going TR - you have a choice of half-rack or full-rack. half comes with 3 i ribs, full comes with 5 i think. you can choose accompanying dish for half-rack, like steak or shrimps or whatever la........

i don't think their sandwich / burger is their specialty. some of their salad are quite nice.

QUOTE(ahjames @ Jun 10 2009, 09:50 AM)
this one should be quoted for being full of kemenangan thumbup.gif

to me if aircon restoran and clean and not noisy is consider fine dining.

like near my haus the delifrance.
biggrin.gif actually la, i find that "fine dining" usually the server is VERY NICELY DECO (artistic) but VERY SMALL. sad.gif

like The Apartment, aiyoh so small la the dish we ordered.......... luckily eat for free, moderator gathering. wanna see the bill? tongue.gif

Alexis also, aiyoh so small la the dish we ordered.......... luckily eat for free again. tongue.gif Nokia N97 Preview. brows.gif but surprisingly the roasted duck or whatever it was wasn't small at all, in fact a rather generous serving of duck meat.

Another place worth trying is Izzi Pizza (or was it Izzy) but don't try the Damansara Uptown branch la, wanna go also go that one in KL itself.

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Jun 10 2009, 12:09 PM)
so u actually got the email i sent from ur site? hehe. then no need to reply already la. already have a few choices now. thanks again biggrin.gif
whoa... never knew being a mod has such benefits... lucky u! anyway, i heard about izzi pizza from my fren too.. he likes fine dining too, and he said that izzi pizza is the best he ever had so far. better than all those franchise pizza like pizza hut, domino, shakeys, etc. must pay a visit soon! tongue.gif

Added on June 10, 2009, 12:13 pm

rm10? the most expensive coke i've ever seen! even a heaven-sent cherry coke costs rm6 only... strange thing is, a lot of people go to that place. i always visit the curve during the weekends and the place is always crowded.. dunno what's the attraction...
*
Izzi pizza is nice, even nicer when there's discount! AFAIK our cheapest mod gathering was there la. imagine getting like 60% discount with citibank card. biggrin.gif

The Apartment - please la, only go if you have deep pockets. around there you can try Italianese also mah (Spaghetti Carbonara is nice, probably the only thing I order. LOL). TGIF got quite some nice choices, i usually go for burgers la but there are some new stuff in the menu. some people like their JD steak.
