I went for the Treats Fair on Friday evening, overall a pretty decent experience. I had applied for Petronas Visa at PC Fair, not sure if Maybank will approve my 3rd Visa card from them. My colleague applied for the Petronas Visa, got the temp card after 1.6 hours. The free bag is worth the RM50 spent as long as you don't buy anything much more expensive than RM50. I exchanged 11.5k TP for a Braun shaver, quite worth it. Most items were quite reasonably priced, not really that much more expensive compared to normal store pricing.

The signature on the card or the transaction slip is not really that important. The credit card system works on resolving disputes/fraud after it happens, not so much preventing it from happening in the first place.
You can sign anything you want on the card or transaction slips, as long as you pay and don't make a fuss with the bank, they don't really care.

QUOTE(Norns @ Sep 2 2008, 09:59 PM) Would like to check with you guys .. is it normal ? For installment package, does the merchant charge full amount or ONLY the MONTHLY charge ? Hope to hear advice In addition to what GuyM said, for most banks, the entire amount (RM2K) will be deducted from your credit balance and will be released progressively as you pay the monthly instalments. Generally speaking, if you had signed an a form stating that the merchant is providing instalment plan through credit card, then all the fees/charges should be included in the total amount you are charged for. The bank will help the merchant process the monthly repayments until the entire sum is settled. If you did not sign such a form, that means that the instalment plan is between you and the bank and an additional fee is chargeable by the bank.

QUOTE(dinozilla @ Sep 7 2008, 11:28 PM) hehe...but i expect sometimes if u buying in foreign place, if u present a Maybankard to them, probably they will reject right.... Makes no real difference. As long as the transaction is approved, no merchant really cares that much the design or issuing bank of the card these days.

For Poslaju delivery, there is the option to allow 3rd party to collect on your behalf, but the banks takes the option of only named recipient with Mykad can collect the item. This requirement is for your own safety too, anyway. Mykad's are harder to forge than fake authorisation letters.

QUOTE(aeronlim @ Sep 23 2008, 11:52 PM) Want to know more detail about CIMB DA. 1) I know that DA has 2% petrol rebate on all petrol station, is it has Bonus Point collection as well? 2) If the answer at (1) is yes, can i get 2% rebate and Bonus Point at same time? (example: pump RM 50 at Petronas, get RM1 rebate + 49 or 50 bonus point....) 3) I'm using CIMB Petronas Mastercard now, may i know is there any way to change it to DA directly without closing my CIMB Petronas CC and apply again for DA? Planning change after the 3% petronas cash rebate promotional period. I want to save time.... 1. Yes 2. No credit card points at petrol stations for most Malaysian credit cards, this applies to CIMB and DA cards as well. 3. You can submit a new application for CIMB DA and the bank will decide whether to approve/reject you. Note that for DA, minimum income requirement is RM24K/year and a copy of your cert is usually necessary.

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Oct 25 2008, 12:42 AM) nowadays when shopping at Carrefour on Tuesday, can see 1 whole row is credit card agent.... starting from RHB, Hong Leong, Citibank (finally they joined), alliance bank, UOB... wired thing is, there are Maybank Banner every where, but no any agent there. Saw a lot of MBB agents peddling CC/Etiqa products last Tuesday when shopping at Carrefour. A few other banks where there too. An agent wanted to approach me but stopped after seeing me bring out an MBB card.

QUOTE(boonsin23 @ Oct 29 2008, 09:56 AM) anybody know how MBB gives cash rebate on Carrefour 5-10% promotion? I spent RM500 this month, just received the statement, but didn't see any rebate being given?!?!?! Rebate is given end of the month of the same month of purchase based on the transaction date. Carrefour's CC provider provided the wrong transaction date to MBB for two of my Tuesday purchases last month, need to visit MBB centre to complain soon.
