@hye

Thanks for the advise at Page 104, i think i have to make some tries for Citibank CC.

@ All

Any ideas with IEM DA Card? I heard it is a MasterCard ONLY for IEM members... the privilege is same as conventional DA card, you can check the details at IEM mainpage

It's not IEM DA card. It's the word IEM imprinted on the card; right below your displayed name.

not from redeem one, they got a scheme. The top spender of the month wins 2 tickets to Old Trafford inc air ticket, the rest of 5 top spenders will received signed jersey with certificat from MUFC ( i got Giggs 2006-07 version & Gary one 2007-08 version drool.gif rclxms.gif ), so during the scheme, i won 2 times, heehee..... rclxm9.gif

Hi guys. Just got a call from Citibank, offering me their platinum card. Anyone else uses this? How's the benefits, and just how much do you have to spend to qualify for a fee waiver?

It's weird - I still cannot understand how Amex calculates the 10x treat points. I just received my Amex bill. A quick summary:-

Total Debit This Month : RM8,961.33
Membership Reward Points Earned For The Month : 8,161 [Y isn't it 8,961?]
Amex Bonus Points : 8,161

I did a rough calculation - I did get the 10x bonus points for the stuff I purchased at Parkson & Best Denki. It was reflected under Multiple Membership Rewards Points:
Parkson : 4,080
Best Denki : 7,992

But whatever happened to the 800+ points?! I tried minusing the fuel but fuel cost came to RM417.08 so it still doesn't tally.

Anyone can shed a light?!

@Lord_Ashe,
I don't think there's a 'minimum' spending to get Citibank's Platinum card waived. A couple of people I know do get their annual fees waived but they don't use any other cards. A few others don't get theirs waived and they've since dropped Citibank.

As for me, I haven't reached the stage of annual fees yet ! *grins*

Ah thanks tinkerbel. I don't really NEED an extra card right now, but if it's Platinum and not TOO hard to skip the annual fee, I may just take it.

Anyone have any experience with it tho?

@Lord_Ashe,
Just take it then - U won't need to worry about the annual fee for the next 12 months and if it's an upgrade, the annual fees should be based on ur existing Gold Card for the next 3 years if I ain't mistaken smile.gif

I've never applied for a single Citibank thingi ever. I suppose someone must have given them my details, it's not like it's a huge secret. They can get it from any kind of database.

Lots of time they do that but after you apply get different card due to one reasons or another. Claims to be from the bank but are actually agents only sad.gif

Hmm. Thanks. If that's the case I may as well pass on the Plat, since it may just be some agent instead of the bank.

It is called "sales target brows.gif " + it's better to target those with high income brackets since (probably) their default risks are lower. I mean while it's easier to look for people who wants a basic card but their

- income is lower thus the capacity to spend is lower
- higher risk since if they have monthly commitments highly likely credit card is the last thing to pay
- etc

If I were the agent ... I better choose my targets well.
