Ok guys... it's official...!!! Iphone 3G will be comming to Malaysia tommorow....

wat bout the iphone bein locked..will it be locked to maxis? anybody got news on dis?

Congrats! Even though I owned one but still feel pretty excited

As for the new model, personally I don't think even if it is launched in June/July, Malaysia will get it as fast as even S'pore.

Tell you why I say that...firstly, Malaysia, in most instances on gadgets and all, get them 'last' and secondly given that Maxis is only just introducing officially the current model, they would have 'negotiated' with Apple to bring the new version in later, in order not to affect their marketing plans for the present one.

Added on March 7, 2009, 12:16 amI don't think Maxis needs to lock the iPhone to their service as someone (was it string?) stated that there will be no out-right sale of it. It is tied to a data plan. So, Maxis would not care if you after signing up, use it with another SIM as you still have to pay for the monhly commitment.

And the punitive charges for termination are high.

really? i cnt find any official on maxis either apple portal. how cn u tell?

i still doubt about maxis will have iphone next week..
but i think 40% probably will

This is my opinion:
Past few weeks, Maxis 3G data package is getting better and better (from what i experience)..
since we are not in the apple's coming soon list, plus Apple Store Msia for iphone is not ready ( http://store.apple.com/my/browse/home/shop...one?mco=MTE2NTQ ), nothing much can we say about this 'official' rumors.
i'm thinking that next week (or maybe tomorrow) is an official that maxis line/network system will work properly for iPhone 3G data setting.

so MAYBE we re looking at end of March or early April on May or Jun or July to get our iPhone .. MAYBE..

(try to be in the safe mood since the waiting have been so long)

Sorry, the statement was a joke actually. I ordered my Iphone from a LYN seller here, he is coming up from Singapore tomorrow to bring my Iphone

unless they're selling official malaysia unlocked version, if not forget it. i'm not interested to change to maxis..

now i really dunno whether to trust this rumour or not, coz in apple.com/my...click buy iphone 3g, click choose country, malaysia takda....click countries iphone 3g in worldwide, takda, even the coming soon oni oso got for indonesia oni, malaysia mana ada? percentage of believability is very very low now
