If Maxs carries iPhone3G (which supports enterprise push email), it might affect the Black Berry services they are offering as well. BB users switch to iPhone tongue.gif

Totally absolutely agree haha!

Nw I'm still undecided, buy official unlock + non contract set from foreign country OR wait for here to launch sad.gif

Hope any local telco who manages to bring in the iphone soon quickly make an official announcement!

Mobile number portability thingy don't think can happen so soon...I would still prefer to get official unlock set from Singapore (all depends Singtel is gonna have this plan or not when they announce the pricing) or go for NZ set smile.gif

String...tumpang thread quick quick start hehe!

IMO if the iPhone launches with Maxis, it wouldn't be worth it. I'd still go and buy a fully unlocked unit. I predict Maxis will definitely supply a locked unit and rip customers off with premium charges that are not friendly with the everyday user. I'm guessing they will focus on high end users like corporate.
*
If i am not wrong now Maxis charges RM99 for 3G unlimited plan. So if Maxis comes out with an iPhone plan, it will cost more than RM99 per month..assume it is RM138 per month with min contract period of 24 months, so total is RM3312.

To make thing worse, if the iPhone is lock to Maxis, then u are forced to use Maxis even though other operators offer better package sad.gif

My Maxis contact informed they sealed the deal officially and preparing for a press conference for announcement. Just sharing the info, don't ask for me how true this can be tongue.gif

Either launching or not, I am already a happy iPhone 3G user rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

This is my opinion:
Past few weeks, Maxis 3G data package is getting better and better (from what i experience)..
since we are not in the apple's coming soon list, plus Apple Store Msia for iphone is not ready ( http://store.apple.com/my/browse/home/shop...one?mco=MTE2NTQ ),  nothing much can we  say about this 'official' rumors.
i'm thinking that next week (or maybe tomorrow) is an official that maxis line/network system will work properly for iPhone 3G data setting.

so MAYBE we re looking at end of March or early April on May or Jun or July to get our iPhone .. MAYBE.. yawn.gif

(try to be in the safe mood since the waiting have been so long)

When i click the link http://store.apple.com/my/browse/home/shop...one?mco=MTE2NTQ it is showing iPhone page liao. But if i goto store.apple.com/my i cant find any direct link from there haha!

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Mar 10 2009, 07:06 PM)
Because if any legal implications are taken against them, they are screwed. Whether there is any actual NDA(Non Disclosure Agreement) signed or just agreed verbally, spillage of information like these by an internal staff will trace back to them as source, and may be dealt with penalties like lawsuits or other nasty ramifications. By them remaining anonymous, and by letting other third party spilling them out, this negates any direct linkage to the leak to them, and still provide news to those waiting for this.

My sources are not "friends", "brother in law" or the kind. I abhor these cheap gossips and spreading of false rumors, they only generate false hope that ultimately disappoints those who are genuinely waiting for the locally made available iPhones.

Finally, after almost 2 years launching and now we got it officially! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

just a word of caution...

maxis tend to have 'hidden' charges...

Please be careful when you sign-up...

if you want to know, refer to my earlier thread before i MNP to Celcom...

Haha that's for sure. It should come with penalty for early termination of contract. And not sure if the value plan for iPhone comes with UNLIMITED or LIMITED DATA PLAN. Let's wait and see rclxm9.gif
