QUOTE(vui_msia @ Mar 13 2009, 07:04 PM) Im currently a Celcom user, anyone know what are the process should i go through to apply for iphone? myb u wanna read more on maxis iPhone page, more specifically on the T&C and FAQ pdf's provided on the page.1) Port-in Maxis <=== i believe you need to select a plan (voice 50,80,150 etc), but how it works? because im actually looking for ivalue 100 with iphone 2) book iphone online via Maxis 3) collect at KLCC i call maxis helpdesk,, they tell me " I DUNO" Should i go straight to the shop and port-in now? or ? i am definitely getting iphone because phone bills subsidy by company from what i've read, they'll only give u booking details AFTER u already perform porting into maxis network. for new customers and existing maxis subscriber, they'll just give the details once u perform the prebook. but yeah myb i could be wrong, so it's better to check the terms or myb u wanna wait for the launch and book for an iPhone with the maxis rep. or myb u wanna call maxis again for further details. If you ARE NOT a DATA user, the maxis package will be definitely looks expensive to you.
However, if you ARE a data user, the package can look more reasonable... My 2 cents... |

Yes, I am an Unlimited data user and my total call charges (including data) is almost RM 250 per month.
If I were to buy iPhone from Maxis, it would seem reasonable. But if most users call/data charges are < RM 100, it will not make much value. They might as well buy from the Black market... |

My main gripe with the plans is that they are not unlimited. Having to keep my data usage in check is not what I have in mind. I dont mind the talktime limitation, I can work around that. Data allocation sacrifices is something I'm not willing to do.However, if you ARE a data user, the package can look more reasonable... My 2 cents... |

Yes, I was also surprised to see that its not totally 100% unlimited data package from maxis.
Maybe maxis have the impression that most casual mobile data users (if only use iPhone for web browsing) will use 1GB or less data per month. (I'm not sure mine is how much). If the usage is meant for P2P, definitely 1GB is insufficient. |

With the rumored tethering coming to OS3, 3GB is definitely not enough. Even if this is not the case for everyone else, the option should be there for those who needs it.

My goodness, no offense but you're dumb. Terminate the line, Maxis will take back the phone. There's no such thing as this in buying mobile phone with plans. What a mindset! |

I thought that you have to pay a deposit for the phone so when you terminate your line, you will forfeit your deposit. It's always like this right?
