I still cant decide which monitor to get for gaming. i mean 22inch or 24 inch (w2207h & w2408h) currently using MSI HD 4850 graphic card. Any advice ma? Some of u said that 24" with 4850 cant really play big games like DMC 4 and crysis cuz will suffer from low frame rate. Izzit true?

Siu_Keong and owikh84,

I made my order and payment for Dell S2409W 24" last sunday, only today I received the Delivery Notification, and when I check the order status in Dell website it stated the estimate delivery date is in 20 Oct 2008, which is freaking long time to wait , meaning 15 days time

is it normal ? or is it they just put a long estimation for their safe state, while usually only taking 5-7 days time?

I have seen quite a number of them. The latest one i saw should be the new 22" UltraSharp model from Dell which cost around RM1.1k+.

I kinda remember a few times when Dell have a shortage in LCD supply and they stated in their website with a "Extended Delivery Period" notice whereby LCD ordered at that point might face some delay in receiving them. Try calling Dell to see what is the problem that might cause the item delivery to take such a long period. They have friendly Customer Service division smile.gif

Game consoles PS3, Xbox 360 etc display at 16:9.
If 16:10 shrunk to 16:9, u will get a bad quality gaming.
Btw, do u all know that 16:9 is wider than 16:10??

So most games currently run at 16:10, but they are moving to 16:9? Thats roughly what I've understood. But overall, I think it would be dependent on my graphics card and the game itself rather than the monitor, correct?

5:4? Or 4:3?

I'm thinking of getting one of those 16:9 LCD but my 4850GS will definitely not able to run them at the native resolution maxed out. Wonder if I can run half hd instead? 1280x720 or that will need to depend on games? If play those with 16:10 means err fatter screen display? or can set so that the screen doesn't stretch it but having the black gap on the sides?
*
of coz you can run at 1280 X 720, just quality not that good
you can set the screen not stretch at Ati CCC, fixed 16:9 ratio at 16:10
