QUOTE(Eoma @ Sep 25 2008, 10:23 PM) Hmm, no offence taken, as you said I merely pointed out the facts of watching SD content on HD screens. (i.e it will appear blocky if stretched to full screen). If you bought a Full HD display in the 1st place, it's because you want to enjoy Full HD material correct ? The downside of this though, is you will find your SD content looking blocky. So what would you do now ? enjoy Full HD (whenever you can, games, videos etc) and tolerate blocky SD video, or return the HDTV for a lower res monitor, so that the SD content displays better ? With a 24" LCD, you can afford to sit further than 1.5m. "Most contents are SD" would be valid a few years ago, but now, even the TV shows floating for free are encoded in 720p (or higher). The only deciding factor to me would be the price of the display itself. Not the content. Well, i personally have that feeling during my switchover from 17" CRT to 22" LCD. Movies content (SD) that looked so clean and sharp was totally blocky when its on the 22". I am kinda picky when it comes to video quality as i always believe in watching something at a good quality or not watch at all, and having blocky graphics does turn me down. And sitting further away from the 22" just for the sake of not noticing the blocky graphics cause it to be tiny and thus, demolish my intention of watching movies at a bigger view. I resort to laptop for movie watching for now. This is all personal preference though. Heck, gaming experience become better though This post has been edited by akachester: Sep 26 2008, 05:03 PM

QUOTE(lex @ Sep 27 2008, 02:21 AM) That's usually because the bigger the screen the bigger the "blocks". This is especially noticeable with low resolution content such as VideoCDs and any movie files with less than 300 lines resolution. However DVDs, MPEG-4, DivX, XVid and H264 movies with more than 400 lines resolution looks great. My 2 cents.. Well, i guess you are right but if i were to enjoy those nice quality movies, i would rather resort to a nice LCD TV and hook it up to the PC instead of resorting to the 22" & 24" Even DVDRip files that look so smooth before is blocky now. I personally tried a few type of files and only starting from 720p quality really cut it for me here.

Besides the size, is there any relative difference between the 2253BW and 2253LW? I have a friend who just got hold of the BW at RM790 but the LW is RM20 cheaper though at LYP

QUOTE(PaiGeWonG @ Oct 8 2008, 04:54 PM) No its not normal cos my friend works in DELL and it only takes maximum 5 working days Indeed another friend bought a laptop last month , as the dell person said maximum 5 working days ... But my friend RUSH him for it , it reaches 2 days time I kinda remember a few times when Dell have a shortage in LCD supply and they stated in their website with a "Extended Delivery Period" notice whereby LCD ordered at that point might face some delay in receiving them. Try calling Dell to see what is the problem that might cause the item delivery to take such a long period. They have friendly Customer Service division QUOTE(lkoky @ Oct 8 2008, 05:23 PM) Does the Dell monitor comes with any vga cable? more specifically HDMI cable? thanks. Mine did come with VGA and DVI cable. Not sure about HDMI because my LCD does not have HDMI port

QUOTE(168257061 @ Oct 15 2008, 09:19 AM) hi brother and sister here wanna ask a question , since samsung discontinued their 931bw , and pushhhhh 943NWX , BWX . their pros is 8k:1 DC ( yea i like dc ) , and the response time even slower than 931bw. 5ms vs 2ms is alot for me. Instead of samsung , which brand has the feature of 8k:1 ( or around ) and has 2ms monitor ? seems like I can't find anymore. unless talk about 22" Out of curiosity, why is 2ms important for you? QUOTE(merk @ Oct 15 2008, 10:30 AM) viper - which samsung model? thanks 2253LW. That should be going for around 730 - 770++ at LYP.

QUOTE(168257061 @ Oct 15 2008, 10:57 AM) because.. erm... kinda hate to the the ghosting while scrolling page up/down this monitor for woking , typing , internet , msn... keke... so 5ms considered ok ? if so... then dont so picky loh... Rm600 for 931bwx only Well, i am using 5ms and still not seeing ghosting effects. Many people are saying even at 8ms, you will not be able to notice them. So i doubt you need to fully concerntrate on getting the 2ms though. Heck, if he does not mind, i think i saw a BenQ 22" LCD selling at LYP for around RM600+ as well
