QUOTE(-vip3rleon9- @ Aug 28 2008, 10:04 PM) Good question. I refer to this site to find out which panel type is being used.http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ It's not often they say what panel it is their using. Some of these companies like Dell have a lottery system where the panel could be anything even for the same model monitor. The panel they put in depends on their supply so they say. Only NEC is guranteed to have IPS monitor Do research online for your particular monitor before you buy. Anyone know where I can get the latest VX62 Series LCD from ViewSonic?
http://www.ap.viewsonic.com/my/pr/show.php?id=26 Found nowhere in Low Yat and I have called to local distributors but they said they don't carry this model into Malaysia. But it's weird I saw the news from InTech The Star (http://star-techcentral.com/tech/story.asp?file=/2008/7/31/prodit/1659170&sec=prodit) and ViewSonic Brochure in All IT. |

See the prices on this page
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/my/en/sm/WF...2087-64283.html HP DreamColor LP2480zx Professional Display for RM 11k. Price overkill for us. The max i would spend is 4k and even then, the lcd has to be fabulous to be worth that much. Usually i spend between 1.5k to 2.5k This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 29 2008, 11:54 AM |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Aug 28 2008, 04:19 PM) Just to reclarify. 24'' and higher usually have 1900x1200 native resolution which is the resolution of 1080p High Definition videos. Oh.. but on viewing I really didn't see before those panel difference.Any place I can have a chance to compare on those 3 panel ? I mean LCD display so I know what difference between 3 of it.There are some 22'' that have 1900x1200 however they are few and rare. Most of the 22'' are 1680x1050 native resolution. 30'' are usually 2000x resolution which is very taxing for graphics card, so i wouldn't recommend anything higher then 26'' because they use higher resolutions that required dual graphics cards setups TN ( Cheap to make and good for gaming because it is the least laggy, and has lowest input lag out of the 3 different lcd panel types. However the color is crap as tn panels are 6bit using FRC. ) S-PVA = better quality then TN, however input lag and latency is higher. At the moment some S-PVA is at an acceptable input lag and latecny which makes it good enough for gamings. However some bad S-PVA are like the Dell 2408 which is too laggy to be used for gaming. This is more expensive then TN. S-IPS = This is better than S-PVA as its better in colors and also has better input lag and latency. It's almost as fast as TN. H-IPS = a newer version then S-IPS and surparses it. |

QUOTE(Siu_Keong @ Aug 28 2008, 10:50 PM) Normally, i will judge those panel from the Max. Viewing Angle and Color Gamut. For TN panel, normally viewing angle will be 160 or 170 for the vertical or horizontal. For the Color Gamut, normally the TN panel can't have high % due to the it using 6 bit and the S-IPS is using 8 bit. Anyway this all imho only, i think some shifu here can explain more detail. Ah so usually TN screen's have viewing angles of 160-170°'s? QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Aug 29 2008, 03:51 AM) Good question. A quick search on Google did not yield any results as well. |

The earlier lag I talked about in my short 2408wfp review was mouse lag, not input (or rather output) lag. Hmmm, best if we can get some comments from other owners of the LCD here. Anyone ? |
