QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Aug 27 2008, 06:54 PM) Hi i just saw they updated the page for the new HP 22'' listed under business monitors as RM$ 1,906HP LP2275w 22-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/my/en/sm/WF...67-3648453.html It doesn't seem to have hdmi listed in its connectivity, however it has DVI ans also display port. Hdmi was never meant for computers anyway, also you could use a dvi to hdmi cable if you really needed the connectivity. Display port graphics cards will be main stream hopefully next year I will see if i can find some reviews for you if i see any. update: Found some info here http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp...essage=29063041 This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 28 2008, 12:20 AM |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Aug 28 2008, 12:19 AM) Hi i just saw they updated the page for the new HP 22'' listed under business monitors as RM$ 1,906 That price is pretty steep. Considering my laptop cant drive games at high resolution, the only thing I'd consider doing with the monitor is movies and webpages. Of course, a normal TN would do fine for such, but never hurts looking for other options.HP LP2275w 22-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/my/en/sm/WF...67-3648453.html It doesn't seem to have hdmi listed in its connectivity, however it has DVI ans also display port. Display port graphics cards will be main stream hopefully next year I will see if i can find some reviews for you if i see any. update: Found some info here http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp...essage=29063041 Honestly, at this price for a 22", I'd be looking for a 32" LCD TV, those things has low reso, but my movies aren't HD neither. The monitor is attractive for the panel, but RM2000? It's priced at $400 in the US, do the math youself, doesn't take exactly RM600 to fly a monitor here from US or China is it? Had it been $400 and converted properly, it would be in the shopping list of many people here. Anyhoo, thanks for the info. This post has been edited by kaiserreich: Aug 28 2008, 01:03 AM |

I just found this
NEW! DELL™ 24" FULL HD WIDE SCREEN FLAT PANEL MONITOR (S2409W) ONLINE PRICE RM1,099* After RM400 Instant Cash Redemption (Delivery Included) E-Value Code: R142409SWMY-WEB • Max Resolution: 1920 x 1080 • 3-Year Next Business Day Advanced Exchange* Service http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/c...dhs1&l=en&s=dhs I found a review of it here http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum...141ec3d283db411 Anyway sounds to me like the best of the best doesn't seem too important to you ? Well this is a cheap affordable TN panel QUOTE Pros *HDCP certification *Tested no dead pixel *No banding issue with colour *Alot of settings for colours and input type *Non native resolution still looks sharp *Fast respond time no lag in gaming *Quite acurate colour reproduction after tuning *Able to select input type to component in (open possibility to use component to vga cable, from ps2, wii, xbox, dvd player etc) *HDMI carries analog sound signal *Sound input and output option *Superb price for 1080p Full hd panel at 16x9 *Nice button layout and responsive keys *Individual input saved menu setting each *Free dvi and rgb cable *Unoticeable backlight bleeding *Vesa compliance can be mounted Cons *No 1.1 pixel mapping *Mirror finish border dust magnet *No component video input when it support it *Base non pivoltable *No HDMI cable included *1920x1080 for pc gaming , need decent pc specs. Conclusion After testing this unit, i realise some tuning needed before u can start enjoying this panel. The preset is really not up to my satisfactory comparing to my samsung 2232bw i owned, but once i set to custom rgb colour everything just looks alright, brightness and contrast is well enough, still no samsung, lol But it does have really fast response time being a tn panel, what really suprise me is there is hardly close to no banding issue, and backlight bleeding on my received panel. Lucky me hhehehehe~ Going through everyday use on pc i have found 16x9 ratio actually more comfortable for me, because i tends to have alot of media uses the ratio, hence fullscreen goodness. While on console end, i have a blast playing metal gear solid 4 in full hd,1080p glore its very enjoyable, decent colors and brightness really makes it a ideal choice for those with limited budget for large lcdtv(3 for price of 1 in my country). The Dell 2409W combines a stylish housing, and great features such as HDCP compatibility on its DVI port, component support on rgb/dvi port, with very impressive image quality. It’s a combination that means that it wins my heart and should well deserve a award IMHO. Specs DISPLAY Panel Size: 24" Optimal Resolution: 1920 X 1080 Contrast Ratio: 1000:1 (typical) Brightness: 300 cd/m2 (typical) Response Time: 5 ms (grey-to-grey) Viewing Angle: 160° / 170° (typical) Color Support: 16.7 million colors Pixel Pitch: 0.276 mm CONNECTIVITY Digital Visual Interface - Digital (DVI-D) with High Definition Content Protection (HDCP) Video Graphics Array (VGA) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STAND Tilt and built-in cable management BUILT-IN DEVICES None -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SECURITY Kensington® security port (cable lock sold separately) COLOR, SIZE AND WEIGHT Dimensions (W x D x H): 22.72 inches (576.96 mm) x 8.76 inches (222.6 mm) x 16.39 inches (416.19 mm) Weight: 8.6 kg (18.83 lb) Color: Black Imho i would suggest you skip 19'' and go straight for either 22'' or 24'' because of the affordability after prices have dropped since last time. The main determining factor at the moment for these 2 sizes is the panel type. Cheapest to expensive is as follows TN < PVA < IPS If you can get a good PVA for slightly more then a TN, do it. You won't reget. For IPS the price spikes up much higher so you maybe not something you need since you aren't too picky like me This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 28 2008, 01:05 AM |

QUOTE(00007kel @ Aug 28 2008, 01:23 PM) but bro u'll only get 1080 HD only in 24" and above... below that the resolutions are not 1080HD quality.. Just to reclarify. 24'' and higher usually have 1900x1200 native resolution which is the resolution of 1080p High Definition videos. There are some 22'' that have 1900x1200 however they are few and rare. Most of the 22'' are 1680x1050 native resolution. 30'' are usually 2000x resolution which is very taxing for graphics card, so i wouldn't recommend anything higher then 26'' because they use higher resolutions that required dual graphics cards setups TN ( Cheap to make and good for gaming because it is the least laggy, and has lowest input lag out of the 3 different lcd panel types. However the color is crap as tn panels are 6bit using FRC. ) S-PVA = better quality then TN, however input lag and latency is higher. At the moment some S-PVA is at an acceptable input lag and latecny which makes it good enough for gamings. However some bad S-PVA are like the Dell 2408 which is too laggy to be used for gaming. This is more expensive then TN. S-IPS = This is better than S-PVA as its better in colors and also has better input lag and latency. It's almost as fast as TN. H-IPS = a newer version then S-IPS and surparses it. This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 28 2008, 04:23 PM |

QUOTE(-vip3rleon9- @ Aug 28 2008, 10:04 PM) Normally, i will judge those panel from the Max. Viewing Angle and Color Gamut. For TN panel, normally viewing angle will be 160 or 170 for the vertical or horizontal. For the Color Gamut, normally the TN panel can't have high % due to the it using 6 bit and the S-IPS is using 8 bit. Anyway this all imho only, i think some shifu here can explain more detail. |
