Price RM$ 3,056

H-IPS/S-IPS and even S-PVA are way better then TN panels. It's like comparing gold with a piece of shit laugh.gif Also it's way better then the Dell 2408 that is plagued with high input lag. This HP has the following input lag when compared to crt.

I took a series of 20 shots in burst mode with my digital camera with 1/320 shutter speed. Both tests have the LP2475w over DVI and the Iiyama 19" over VGA. Graphicscard is an Asus NVidia 7800GT. From previous input lag tests I know that results are consistent when I switch ports on the graphiccard.

I ran two test with the same parameters.

Test 1: The HP is on average 18,7 ms behind the Iiyama CRT.
Difference in ms per photo taken:

Test 2: The HP is on average 21,5 ms behind the Iiyama CRT.

0, 16, 32, 32, 31, 15, 31, 16, 16, 15, 47, 15, 16, 31, 16, 16

Things you should know about this monitor.

1. it's a 8 bit s-ips panel.

2. it does not have a at-w polarizer

3. it's wide gamut

4. there is no hardware internal lut. You will need to depend on graphics card lut if you plan on color calibrating

5. it's using the newest panel type by Lg
QUOTE
Paneltype: LPL LM240WU4; a LG. Philips S-IPS panel model that went into production in 2008

6. it has dvi, hdmi, and display port and HDCP compliant. This is why i said i said overall it's a better alternative then Dell.

Anyway the only problem i could find for this monitor is that it is wide gamut. So colors would be over saturated on srgb sources which means pretty much everything since 90% of the graphics is using srgb sweat.gif Anyway i have a x-rite Eye one display 2 calibrator so hoping to tame the colors when i buy this monitor. I heard it will be available in Malaysia. I just only saw that they released the malaysian price on the malaysian website so they must be pretty close to releasing for the malaysian market. thumbup.gif

How much is Dell s2409w selling at LOWYAT plaza? Is is cheaper than the online RM1099? Is it worth getting one if I only want to use it for ps3 gaming?

I recommend the HP LP2475W. I just checked with the HP reseller representative and they quoted RM 3000. They have stock available, and can ship directly to my house. I only pay when they deliver either by cash or check. I am probably ordering it today or tomorrow.

But since you want cheaper they also have a 22 inch model which i think is a S-PVA. Not sure about the price.

The cheapest you can get is a TN panel. I am not too sure about monitors in this category as they don't really interest me. They are however fast and responsive for games and videos, but don't expect their color or video quality to be on par with either H-IPS/S-IPS/S-PVA panel types which are in a different league all together.

I know rolleyes.gif which is why i recommended the best one i could think of and he can work his way down from that to how much his willing to pay to get. Also i give some other alternatives to consider.

22'' lcds have dropped a lot compared to 24'' so instead of settling on 19 or 20, probably should look at 22 or 24.

The HP 24'' S-IPS is probably the cheapest S-IPS in the 24'' category.

yeah...i know 22" price has been dropping, getting cheaper and cheaper. i like big lcds, but i'm staying in hostel, have to shift my stuff every semester, so i cant. a 19"-20" would do. i like dell's ultrasharp series, but they are a little pricey. what about those normal dell lcds? i'm not convinced with their specs..
