Question
Stock HU, and 4 speakers cannot satisfy my requirement

I just want to get my own KENWOOD CD biggrin.gif player to my new Savvy,
and change a good component set (front speaker + crossover) to it...

_______________________________________________________
So, is they need to cut icon_rolleyes.gif or modify the stock wiring... blink.gif

Will proton void my 5 yrs warranty?
not the Clarion(HU) warranty, only Proton 5 yrs warranty

It is simple, this is how warranty goes. What ever u change or cut or alter the stock part they will only void that particular area. But for this case it involves cutting wires, proton claims that cutting any wires and if u complain wanted to claim for warranty u might have a hard time. So! if u wanna do it dont even bother about warranty.

I'm sure i'm not over sensitive as I've asked several ppl to test it out for me.

erm... the jerk will be very noticeable on bumper to bumper jam...not highway cruising.

Both proton & renautech aware of this problem and called it AMT jerk. So i'm pretty sure I'm not alone.

Cars bound to have problems later with tens of thousands components it's just how well the car could tolerate the faults...DIY means the faults are easy to rectify...there seems to be 2 major probs with AMT model - accumulator - RM1k to replace and robotic clutch RM2k - both NEW, still much cheaper than the whole transmission set - if you need to replace whole "exotic" transmission like the CVT for example.. MT model is generally reliable lime mine including the manual gearbox found on AMT>>

You can count on me like other enthusiastic owners who will keep the car for long time...love my baby very much - now nearly 80k km, 2005 car MT>

There's no thread about kelisa and kenari if you notive..and the kancil thread only begins to picking up...

still experiementing with RON92 petrol - BHP and ESSO 92 working fine on our cars...

RON92 should be fine on Savvy.... But not on major proton cars such as those equipped with Mitsubishi & campro series of engines

Are you actually using RON92 on your Savvy AMT? I am not that brave, at least not until many owners can vouch for it.
I hope there are no long term side effects other than the anticipated minor drop in performance.

I din use it as my company only pay for RON97 & diesels.

But there's some ppl i know feed their savvy with RON92 and no significant performance drop nor operational problems.

most new cars already have a 'ping sensor' in the engine. meaning if the fuel is of sub standard, then it will retard the timing to suit it.
for example, most fuel in indonesia are of ron 88. ron 92 and 95 are the high end fuel.

davidmu:
on warranty of HU.. it is possible not to cut any wires. according to accessory shops, they can use the clip method to connect the wires.
but keep in mind, if u short some wires and fries something. dun expect proton to honour warranty on that.

edwin88:
stop surfing on the web for info on savvy. go out and test drive one then surf for info.

hyper:
i fully agree. my family's honda is going to die soon because of CVT issue, honda can't do anything to help. most likely will need to change a recond gearbox soon.

True, but the robotic clutch system is many times more expensive to replace than
the actual clutch kit in the manual gearbox in the event of component failure.
This is what every Savvy AMT owner is dreading whenever the AUTO light comes on.
Proton's inability to resolve this problem is not helping to allay this fear, especially
for those out-of-warranty vehicles.

Added on October 2, 2008, 1:44 pmThere is one lady owner from Singapore who posted on savoc.net yesterday regarding the AMT failure
of her two-month old Savvy!

After ignition, she cannot put the car into drive from the 'N' position. Even with the help of some
experienced forummers, she still couldn't manage to engage into drive. I really sympathise with
her since she cannot use her car and has to wait to be towed back to the service centre after the
Raya holidays.

My Savvy AMT is also around two-month+ old and I am feeling really apprehensive about this AMT
problem. So unpredictable. It can happen without warning on both new and out-of-warranty vehicles.

thanks lj0000, honestly, I just touch up the crossover to my stock speaker and change the HU to KENWOOD thumbup.gif

Feel better to this little changing to my Audio sys rclxm9.gif

FROM my company SC, what they said is really same as you said...

Just void the CLARION and speaker warranty, what I believe...
