some bank offers easy payment.. MBB for example.. zero interest! subject to certain minimum amount.. but not many merchants engage with this joint venture with the banks..

i guess u're looking for flex or flexible payment rate rite?

i thinks, when u have saving account n credit card online together, the bank is preferable you pay using the saving account, not the CC.

same thing happened with my HSBC online banking. i cant use my HSBC CC online banking to pay the bills but have to use the saving account.
*
It's not like that.
It is whether the merchant wanting to accept credit card payment or not, because the amount will only be credited into their account on next working day, fastest for CC transaction.
For payment using savings/current, the amount will be transfer instantly and reflected in the current day transaction.

Hey, HSBC savings/powervantage/premier does give you points for bill payment as well, so CC or not, it's just fine.

@vin_ann,
Given a choice, I rather use CC to pay these Utility bills cause got points *grins*  I been using Citibank CC but I don't have an existing saving accounts with them so it's not linked, don't know about HSBC.
*
@Everyone

Citibank is the only bank that allows their CC to pay for bills online. For other banks

MBB - selected payees only but the main ones (TNB, Syabas, Astro) are not supported. TM is supported but using MBB card only, you can use non-MBB card to pay via PayBills Malaysis
HSBC, CIMB - via bank account only
UOB - via payonline.com.my Celcom, Maxis, TM (all cards accepted) Note : site is not working @ time of writing.

I'm still not going to support Citibank for the moment time being. So will pay bils using various alternative online methods - just a bit more effort only.

Citibank have many card products. Choose the one that suits you most. AirAsia card ? Do you like to travel often then probably this is the card for you ... instead of normal Citibank Reward points, you'll get AA points which can be redeemed for AirAsia vouchers.

@navilink,
The RM5 is only applicable on the Citibank Choice Card, not the other cards.

I believe U need to be a member for X months otherwise there is some sort of processing fee; ain't quite sure but that's stated in their T&C.

Under what condition would HSBC start to charge you RM 5 per month? I am also using PowerVantage Savings/Current account and so far I have not been charged anything except the RM 8 for ATM card. RM 5 per month is crazy sweat.gif

There's a minimum amount that you need to retain (I think it's above RM5K or is it RM10K) per month before it attracts the RM5 per month. BTW guys, this is the CC thread - please keep it clean.

@hye,
OT a little.. I pay RM5 p/month on my MBB Premier Account - I am considering putting those funds into this HBSC EasiGrow thing otherwise I might just open the UOB High Yield Account [except I don't have RM300k to begin with! tongue.gif]

Yes Yes... let's keep this back to Credit Cards smile.gif

@kons,
Yes, I'm a HSBC Premier banker but I haven't found out much about this EasiGrow Account so not too sure how it works but if it's in my favour I probably will use that as my primary account and keep a MBB savings account and not their Premier Account. I needed the Premier Account as I wanted the cheque facilities but I don't need it anymore [except I've such a nice MBB Account No. I am reluctant to give it up!] rclxub.gif

Easigrow are meant for those who can't really save up in the first place. tongue.gif
Nah, easigrow is good if you have that wad of cash but no idea what to invest.
If you can maintain your premier for so long now, don't think you need easigrow after all. tongue.gif

I don't use the checkbook facilities but I prefer to just use bank draft all the time.
People tend to accept it better based on my experience dealing with huge sum.
