yeah, then have to wait for someone here to verify if N82 can take 16GB card..  biggrin.gif

Already verified by Nokia, N82 can support 16GB and 32GB micro-SD HC.

32GB is the max limit for SD HC ISO standardization, although the theoretical limit is somewhere around 2TB if I remember correctly.

I suspect something wrong with the OS (firmware). hmm.gif

I encounter once, with the zero (0) button. In the main screen, when you press and hold zero key, it will launch web browser. Mine didn't after install/uninstall many apps.

What I did is backup phone memory, the set to factory default, then download and overwrite the firmware, and restore the phone memory. The zero button works again. Yes, very pain in the... S.

If you ask me, I prefer that stupid multimedia key not working, as I don't use it (yet) and sometimes press wrongly.

Better still if can reprogram it to be the pen+edit key rclxms.gif

There is a known problem with the end call key. If you end a call, and press end-key (red colour) repetitive, it will hang the phone.

Solution: Press once only. If you press multiple times, relax... let go of the button... wait 10 sec, it will resume as normal.

Hi guys

Fully charge n82 on Friday 1607hrs (9/5/08)
Now Wed battery warning is running low
Only use it to call one number only (39seconds)
Bluetooth was disabled, didnt use camera or radio or sms
According to the manual standby should be 210hrs (8.75days)
Is this normal? battery last for 4days only? Less than 50%

Disable wlan scanning the manual says will save battery consumption.
How to do that?

Thanks

To save battery, you guys can set the network to GSM only, as auto network will keep search for 3G networks whenever possible. icon_idea.gif

210 hrs are under laboratory testing, i.e. controlled environment. Different telco provider, on different frequency (GSM900/1800/WCDMA/etc), different location with different signal strength, etc. will drain more battery juice.

To get 210 hrs,
(1) fully charge the battery.
(2) take out your SIM card or set the phone to Offline.
(3) switch on and let it at your desk until it runs out of battery. Also ensure the environment is at 20-25C with minimum humidity.

I tested with my previous N80, with SIM card and minimum usage as you stated above, last 3-4 days only. Without SIM card/Offline, it last me 7-9 days.

Recommendation:
(1) Disable wireless - Set wireless scanning = off
(2) Use GSM on default. If you need to browse/video call, then only set to 3G(UMTS) mode.
(3) Disable as much apps running in the background (press and hold Menu). Also uninstall those screensaver, etc.

BTW, for those who experience short battery life, do you mind to state whether your set is original/AP and also you think your battery is original/AP.

Hi

The battery and phone is original.
As at 1200hrs battery still got one bar left (life is 4days 20hrs ++ ).
Will try the phone without any sim card after battery really dead and recharge.
Maybe can then try different sim card (digi maxis celcom) and see which telco consume most power.

Any1 want to ta pau me going out to lunch.
Will report back later.

Using my previous Nokia 6230 (with EDGE), I notice there are different power consumption between DiGi and Maxis in Klang Valley. Using DiGi can last 50% longer time, based on average usage on both SIM cards. Similiar locations and environment.

Your N82 can last 4 days is already good. Mine last from 0.5-2 days max only. tongue.gif I can guarantee you, no way N82 can last 7 days or more if you are connected to Celcom/DiGi/Maxis (not Offline).

Are you really going to put N82 aside for 8-10 days to test out the battery ? hmm.gif
Then you use old/previous phone temporary ?

Obviously, you are asking in a bias thread. Most will say N82. rolleyes.gif

Again, it all depends on your individual preference:
1) Which is nicer in your own eyes ? N82/N95 ?
2) Do you prefer candy bar / slide ?
3) Is 0.2 inch bigger screen really matter to you ? 2.4" vs 2.6" ?
4) Most people claim N95 music player quality is better. However, N81 is the best (among N series) as claimed.
5) Is a xenon flash camera matter to you ?

Other smaller things like:
6) Can you live with N82 cannot stand sideway by itself ?
7) Battery life will be similiar between N82 & N95
8) Small keys on keypad ?
etc.
