QUOTE(highwindz88 @ May 4 2008, 03:54 PM) Is there any possible way to do this : 1. Unfortunately.. there isnt a way to do that unless theres a 3rd party software/hack to do it.Vibrating alert ON for incoming calls and vibrating alert OFF for incoming message? I dun like the phone to vibrate due to "incomng sms" but at the same time i want vibrating alert for "incoming calls" only ty Another things is the Camera have timer countdown (example set 10 sec and the phone will capture image after 10sec). But the problem is hte N82 canot "STAND" to be placed stationary. Any idea how to place the phone stationary? 2. Ive seen videos on youtube where this guy opens up the memory card compartment and pull the cover of the memory card facing outwards (camera's side) and place it on the table and it'll stand.. try it. it works for me |

QUOTE(ibexgeo @ May 6 2008, 12:09 AM) Guys, i need professional advice on this. Just bought my n82 few days ago. The problem is with my battery, it seems like the battery cant last even 7-8hours per day. FYI, i only use on phone calls and sms-ing, no wifi and music player. Is it normal? should i claim warranty ?Need advice pls Go claim warranty. Mine can last 1 FULL day with heavy usage (lots of taken pics, wifi an hour or 2, music an hour or 2, average 10 minutes of calls, alot of sms). If idle leh.. 2 days charge once. |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ May 7 2008, 03:07 PM) highwindz88, WHOA This will get technical. For a 2GB with FAT (FAT16) file system, it is using 32KB cluster size (default). e.g. If a file is 100KB in size, it will take up 4x32KB space = 128KB. The remaining 28KB will be useless/redundant. Of course in FAT you can use a smaller cluster, e.g. 8KB (for discussion sake). For a 100KB file, it will use 13x8KB = 104KB. You will waste 4KB only if you use 8KB cluster compared to 32KB cluster. The advantage of using bigger cluster is faster seek and read time, as the OS need to read from fewer clusters and shorter search time for each of the cluster. But it waste a lot of empty space. To free up space, either you save all your files in 32KB cluster size (which is near impossible). The free space will be released automatically when you delete the file. e.g. when you delete the 100KB file, it will free up 128KB (based on 32KB cluster for 2GB FAT file system) If you don't understand any of my explanation above 1) Google 2) Wiki 3) close one eye and accept it as how computer file system works. If you don't believe me, backup the entire memory card, and delete all files. You will get back all exact 2GB. That's 2x1024x1024x1024 bytes = 2,147,483,648 bytes. Or 2,048MB. Or 2,097,152KB. |

QUOTE(highwindz88 @ May 9 2008, 10:49 PM) Some of the drawbacks of N82 1. It seems that every n82 comes with the gap whether u like it or not. I dont feel its manufactured poorly due this problem coz everyone has it 1. The phone body design even though looks nice, but actually poorly manufactured compared to other Nseries like N95 or N95 8GB. (Look at my previous post regarding the sides gaps) 2. Battery not lasting. (10 msg, 10min call, 2 hour game, 2 hour wifi, 30mins touch here touch there) battery low already. 3. Everything micro. USB and Charger is micro, so when u go out, make sure bring charger coz ur buddy with N95 8GB or other Nseries cant lend u his. 4. The phone likes to lay down and rest. If u know wat i mean. (cant stand) 5. 2GB memory i think not enuf. 6. The D-pad a little hard to use. But u'll get used to it. 7. I still have problem installing animated Symbian S60 3rd themes. 2. Battery life to me is GREAT. Atleast it can last a full day wit heavy usage. Considering you have a phone that can do so many different things (Unlike SE that dun have WiFi GPS and unlike PDAs which are HUMONGOUS). If you were a n80 user in the past as me, you will be grateful that you can fully utilize your phone and not worry it'll be dead before the day ends 3. yeah.. have to agree with you on this. But its no biggie rite? 4. Thats coz its meant to be on its back i guess. Ive read somewhere that the back of your n82 is scratch proof? But I myself dont dare try 5. 2gb not enuf then buy more bigger mem card lor 6. yeah.. d-pad can be frustrating at moments. But look at the built quality. Its better than having a joysticks. And you all know very well how easy joysticks are to spoil 7. I tink with the FP2, n82 is able to support animated themes. I once saw a theme based on flash. Its really cool. It is total personalization. People are working on it. Jus be patient dude One more thing i have to add.. Before i bought my n82, i was contemplating on either n95 8gig or n82. Wanna know why i chose n82? because of its candy bar form. I was previously an N80 user. my N80 was working very fine till the day its ORIGINAL warranty expired. Cheers |

QUOTE(highwindz88 @ May 10 2008, 03:18 PM) Another thing regarding GarminXT, after installing garmin, in the Gallery folder appears many picture and icon. Anyway to make it don't appear in gallery? 1. Look for the photo files in the garmin folder and hide it. Just like how you hide files in your computer, do it with the garmin picture files. They should be in *.mbm extensions. Correct me if im wrong And the #key for font change during messaging, when press will auto copy/paste. The only solution i know is holding the menu button, but stlll annoying. Any new way to fix it? 2. Download and install garmin v4.10.80. That version fixed the bug but unfortunately, that version has another bug of its own (when switching from portrait to landscape or vice versa whilst garmin is talking will make garmin hang) Cheers |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ May 13 2008, 06:23 PM) If you ask me, I prefer that stupid multimedia key not working, as I don't use it (yet) and sometimes press wrongly. If only theres a hack to change those keys. Better still if can reprogram it to be the pen+edit key |

QUOTE(bsl555 @ May 14 2008, 11:27 PM) Just found another software deficiency. Weird.. I can wor If you create a new profile, for example you'd like some personal settings and call it "Home" (when at home where ringing tones are set much softer and maybe different tone), you can't rename that profile. It'll be called New Profile. The work around is to modify one of the preset profiles and use that named profile. |
