Couple of issues for me to comment. (with comparison to SE Kseries)
1. N82 cannot charge through USB cable. K8** have option.
2. I think the SE Music player is functionally better but N82 got more equalizer customization.
3. Hate that Nokia flash intro.. its SO OLD!..evensince my 6600.
4. Higher learning curve than K850i on navigating the menus. Its a lorry load of lot more features than my old 6600 phone.
5. N82 battery life NO match with Kseries!.. confirmed by good buddy who plays with phones all the time. Nokia should have put in a higher cap battery.
6. Should have included a task manager to see what apps are still running in background, or have I missed it.

I just upgraded to Nokia Maps 2.0 from Nokia website, including updated maps for Malaysia/S'pore. Maps 2.0 is so much improved.
I'm still pondering whether to install or officially buy Garmin Mobile..BUT, I think I'll stick to my Garmin Nuvi for time being,..no damn phone beats the real thing!

Considering of getting either N82 or N95 8GB. Can you guys pls give me some comment?

1) is the shutter sound very loud on N82?
2) battery life?
3) keypad hard to press?

thanks!

erm I don't think you should even compare the two phones in the first place. There is too much difference as in price that they shouldn't be in the same category.
However , I will still give my piece of comment as you would expect from this discussion forum. A short one.
IMO, n82 is a not-too-cheap-not-too-expensive type of phone. You can't find any better phone in this price range of 1450-1600.
Function wise, n82 is very much similar to the n95 8gb though specification wise, the latter,of course, is superior.
The lack of touch screen on such large screen of n95 8gb is a major drawback.
One winning point from n82, xenon flash smile.gif

Some of the drawbacks of N82

1. The phone body design even though looks nice, but actually poorly manufactured compared to other Nseries like N95 or N95 8GB. (Look at my previous post regarding the sides gaps)

2. Battery not lasting. (10 msg, 10min call, 2 hour game, 2 hour wifi, 30mins touch here touch there) battery low already.

3. Everything micro. USB and Charger is micro, so when u go out, make sure bring charger coz ur buddy with N95 8GB or other Nseries cant lend u his.

4. The phone likes to lay down and rest. If u know wat i mean. (cant stand)

5. 2GB memory i think not enuf.

6. The D-pad a little hard to use. But u'll get used to it.

7. I still have problem installing animated Symbian S60 3rd themes.

Yes, shutter sound is loud...not for peekaboo shots!!..if you've got that in mind.
Battery life seems not a high point..if you use gps, play music for long hours and wifi..have to charge everyday.
Phone seems to be warm too.
Not many things as ideal..always some quibbles here n there.
K850i is more solid build quality EXCEPT the keyboard quality which I think is hollow underneath near the middle..can see it being depressed. The K850 I owned before had hard buttons and takes a lot to get used to the D-ring.

yea we would love to experience a higher capacity battery on n82.
It seems that the stock battery is made to last for only a day. In other words, we have to charge it everyday

Like that best to buy a spare battery and desktop charger.. like back in those days of the brick phones. They only last a day or less.

Actually when comparing the N95 8gb with the N82 black edition theres a lot of improvement in terms of software/firmware besides the xenon flash. The N82 boot up is way faster than N95 8gb and the camera boots up is way faster than N95 and the contrast is improve on the n82 while capturing in low light condition, the N95 would just be over exposed.

1. It seems that every n82 comes with the gap whether u like it or not. I dont feel its manufactured poorly due this problem coz everyone has it sweat.gif Im starting to feel that it was designed to be like that. Dont ask me why. lolz laugh.gif

2. Battery life to me is GREAT. Atleast it can last a full day wit heavy usage. Considering you have a phone that can do so many different things (Unlike SE that dun have WiFi GPS and unlike PDAs which are HUMONGOUS). If you were a n80 user in the past as me, you will be grateful that you can fully utilize your phone and not worry it'll be dead before the day ends tongue.gif

3. yeah.. have to agree with you on this. But its no biggie rite? smile.gif

4. Thats coz its meant to be on its back i guess. Ive read somewhere that the back of your n82 is scratch proof? But I myself dont dare try icon_question.gif You know wat i mean rite? Its like "drop proof laptop!".. you dare to drop it? LOL laugh.gif

5. 2gb not enuf then buy more bigger mem card lor thumbup.gif look at it the bright side, you're able to have more storage space than n95 8gig if you want rclxms.gif

6. yeah.. d-pad can be frustrating at moments. But look at the built quality. Its better than having a joysticks. And you all know very well how easy joysticks are to spoil icon_rolleyes.gif

7. I tink with the FP2, n82 is able to support animated themes. I once saw a theme based on flash. Its really cool. It is total personalization. People are working on it. Jus be patient dude rolleyes.gif

One more thing i have to add.. Before i bought my n82, i was contemplating on either n95 8gig or n82. Wanna know why i chose n82? because of its candy bar form. I was previously an N80 user. my N80 was working very fine till the day its ORIGINAL warranty expired. cry.gif I went back to Nokia Care Center numerous times because of the slider form problems. I couldnt hear the other party because of the earpiece having problems and my 352x418 LCD had to be replaced due to the flex (the wire connecting the top half and bottom half of the slider) teared. mad.gif manyak mahal ohhhhhh

Cheers biggrin.gif

Masuk hutan one was ATUR 450.
I remember my Toshiba lasted a day, then 2 more Ericsson (not SE) also lasted a day They were NiMH batteries.

Not to mention the huge amount of RAM available 132MB compare to N95 8gb with its puny 48mb ram. Improve reception on the N82 due to the relocation of the GPS antenna to the top. What more can you get...N82 is so awesome, my fren with N95 regretted buying N95.
