Yes, the ability can be responded to like anything else that goes on the stack. They can't respond to the discard since that is a cost.

For the Soulstoke, when you play the ability it goes on the stack. Then you have priority. If you pass, your opponent has priority. If he also pass then the ability resolves and you put the Elemental into play.

REMINDER: CCE Shadowmoor Drafts tomorrow (17th May 2008)

For the regular mailing list, I apologise, I have been swamped so haven't had time to send out the regular email on events. Yes, there will be a draft tomorrow, primarily hosted by Hari.

Tomorrow, there will be another new joiner to the CCE crowd (we are ever-expanding!) and he's hoping to learn how to draft so if anyone's willing to teach him the ropes of drafting (during the draft), you are welcome. What better place to learn the thrills of drafting then dueling over cards with Hari or swapping jokes with Khairul?

Now, start time is back to 245pm Though these drafts are always in high demand, so as soon as you get there, start putting down your name & DCI number. PM Hari (blade825) to reserve a place.

It's very likely I won't be drafting tomorrow, as I have other things on, plus I need to finalise my Constructed decks and practice some Constructed ahead of Hollywood. I will try to pop by.
